Allowing your bridesmaids to relax is a nice thing to do. We're also offering to our guests.
The bridesmaid dress is from Priscilla of Boston (PB313) in Dandelion. I can't seem to copy the picture from the website so I have attached the link. http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_detail.jsp?gid=230&sfid=51007&f=
I think it would look very cute together...and comfortable for your bridesmaids. I'd say go for it!
do it! I had an outdoor beach wedding and the girls had J. Crew dresses and wore white flip flops. It looked so cute!
I'm allowing my MOH/SIL to wear flips too. I think these days there are so many cute flips or thong sandals that anything can go.
My girls have the option to change into flip flops -- or sneakers, or really whatever makes them most comfortable -- after getting introduced at the reception. The flip flops you posted are super cute!
I love your BM dress. I think you can pull it off outdoors. I bought my girls more casual flip flop than the ones you posted s to change into after the ceremony.
I don't think it's going to matter! It's so nice of you to want it casual and comfy for them!
I'm all for wearing sandals for an outdoor wedding! I did!! My girls wore the Bright orange sandals from Target with brown satin tea length dresses with an orange ribbon around their waste and I wore the silver sandals with my dress and I love them! best part is that I can wear them again (like at work today :D )
i think you can totally go for flip flops or in your case sandals.. I am thinking of having my girls in jack rogers since teh wedding is going to be outside, on a hill and in the grass... not great for heels!
Sorry, but I think your Mom is right. Dress is too nice for thongs or flipflops. A sandal like the ones on the website that the model is wearing, but maybe lower, would look much better.
My daughter's BM wore pretty silver sandals for ceremony and pictures and matching crystal flipflops for the reception.
I like it. I think you should go for it. It's YOUR wedding. :) You're being nice to your BMs. Who cares what everyone else thinks?
I'd say go for it! As long as you aren't doing $2 rubber flips, you'll be fine. Those GREAT dresses are have a beautiful springy feel (springy as in young and fun and good for outdoors, not just april ish) and some nice flip flops will be just nice with them. And your girls feet will thank you!
Yes, I agree - just because you have a nice dress doesn't mean you have to wear heels. The flip-flops you chose are dressy enough and will be super comfortable. Go for it!
Thanks all for your input. I forgot to mention that the majority of my BMs are a few inches taller than I am, another reason for opting for flats!
I love the idea - they are cute (I love your BM dresses) and then you will look taller in pictures
BRILLIANT!
i think it will be adorable. tell your mom all the internet strangers thought it was a good idea! ;) (it's ok my mom said the same thing! haha)
I think sandals are cute and almost ;a necessity for an outdoor wedding, but I would lean toward something a little dressier for the dresses you picked out.
During the ceremony and the begining of the reception we are doing formal. But after pictures we are switching to flips. Our dresses are all really formal so flops would not go, but I think if you and your girls want to wear them it is your day, wear what you want.

What are people's thoughts on flip flops for an outdoor summer wedding...for the bridesmaids? I'm not talking about rubber or beach sandals, but a little nicer. My mother is fully against it, stating that the dresses are too formal (silk faille knee-length cap-sleeve dress). I'm a laid back bride who really wouldn't mind going barefoot to tell you the truth. What do people think?
