Just wondering if anyone has ever used a vacation rental website like FlipKey, Home Away, or VRBO before? I’ve read reviews but you never know if they are real travelers doing the reviews. Hearing some feedback from you bees would really be helpful.
My fiance and I REALLLLLY love the Sandal’s resorts and how private/all-inclusive it all is. The problem is that we just cannot justify the cost!!! For less than that we could fly to Europe and rent a private house/apartment and really soak in the culture. We got engaged in France, and we absolutely loved the french countryside, so to do this for our honeymoon would be nice. We also quickly saw the italian countryside and loved that too, so it could be nice to get to really soak in that atmosphere as well.
Has anyone specifically used these locations in Europe? Please let me know!!! We are dying to take this trip, but are so scared to take a risk right now!

I’ve used VRBO for a rental property in Cayman Brac but not in Europe. I had a great experience…I’d be more than happy to tell you more if you’re interested. Feel free to PM.

We’ve used VRBO and AirBnB before, with great success, in multiple countries! It’s always WAY better than being stuck in a small hotel room. I say go for it!

I did one in the Caribean last year and it was great! I loved having a kitchen and living room!

I just can’t imagine what I would do without weddingbees! I had never even heard of airbnb until today and now I am obsessed with it 🙂 I love the reviews that you can see and the info about the hosts! Thanks bees!
I think I’m going to try to pitch the idea to my future hubby and see what he says 🙂 It would be nice to go back to Seillans and take some pictures/eat/just HANG out where he proposed 😀 That day we had the best olives and we still talk about them to this day…I didn’t even like olives until that trip!!!! Things are looking up for our dream honeymoon. Glad this website opened my eyes! Why rent a cramped hotel room when you can rent an entire apartment/house for less???
I’m surprised more bees don’t consider this for their honeymoon.

We just got back from a 2 week trip to Europe this past weekend (our long delayed honeymoon!) and used Airbnb to rent apartments in two of the cities. Wouldn’t change a thing – it was perfect. We had our own space and lots of it, washer/dryer (saved on packing!), kitchen, and for cheaper than the going rate at any hotel in the same areas. We rented in Amsterdam and Rome – let me know and I can PM you links to the apartments.

In Europe I used booking.com and apartments apart-which is like a property management company that owns or manages the rentals of a bunch of apartments. I used them in Rome but I believe they rent in much of Europe.
