- Wedding: October 2012
I don’t feel as if those take away from the wedding feel/vibe. Remember that all of your wedding decor will be there and of course…the fact that they will all KNOW it’s a wedding. 🙂
Ours isn’t quite floor length. I don’t think it will make it any less “wedding-y.” Honestly I don’t care, lol, but I really don’t think so.
Doubtful anyone will notice or remember that you don’t have floor length linens. There are other ways to spruce up a table to make it more weddingy. Maybe some contrasting runner for a pop of color?
Personally, I hate floor length linens on tables and chair covers… because I am a little clumsy and particularly prone to tripping on them. I’ve knocked over a chair at every wedding I’ve been to with chair covers, and while it hasn’t happened yet- I’m terrified of stepping on a floor length table linen and taking down a centerpiece! So, I vote ‘no way’ for personal reasons, but I also think it would look nice even if all your guests are graceful.
ETA- Those are incredible chairs, by the way. I love them and want them for my kitchen.
I agree with thepainter, linens to the floor just get tangled in my feet! I prefer the kind that are closer to halfway so then when I sit down I can actually get my legs under the table. NO ONE but you will notice the length of the linens anyway so if the club has some included, save the money!
Fiance also doesn’t like the idea of the linen’s touching his legs. I’m so torn =
To me it would only take away depending on the formality level. If men are wearing tuxes and you have chivari chairs then yes, it would feel off to me.
Personally I love floor length linens, I love how elegant they look. There is something about it that just says “extra special”.
I think they look great and I would not worry about it taking away from your look 🙂
I don’t think the non-floor length look bad at all, in fact, I like them!
Just a thought about where you are spending your money… with all the chairs pushed in I can’t even really tell that they are floor length and think the attention should be brought to the top of the table, your centerpieces. As an interior designer, I think your money would be better spent dressing something else up then to put it into something so little noticed. Also I agree with the comments about tangled. I would get myself all wrapped up in them =) But I am clumsy also.
Hope this helps!
I think short linens look better In My Humble Opinion.
I think it looks great with short linens.
