jessie0114:  Tampa’s port is small and I don’t think a small line services it because it wouldn’t have enough time to cruise to the Bahamas.  Most of those 2 and 4 day small lines sail out of South Florida because they have to be close enough to the Bahamas to do a short night cruise.

Have you looked into renting a houseboat or sailboat for a few nights?  You could do that in St. Pete which is near Tampa, or better yet Fort Myers/Naples.

P.S. Port Canaveral is only a 2 hour drive depending on what side of Tampa you live on.  Royal Caribbean and Carnival both sail out of Port Canaveral and honestly, they will be a better deal than the timeshare sales cruise that you’re asking about.

I second going through Port Canaveral. Celebration cruise is offered pretty frequently on groupon and I have heard horror stories. I think you just take I4 from Tampa. Also, I am a Fort Myers local and they don’t offer anything to Bahamas (that I know of) but there is the Key West Express. I love Key West so I am biased but if you aren’t sold on the Bahamas you might want to look into that! It’s approx a 4 hr shuttle that drops you off in the heart of the Keys and you can stay at whatever hotel you like.
