Hi, I live in Fort Myers and go to Sanibel quite often and have stayed at Tween Waters. Great place. The view is unbelievable and you will love the shelling! (go first thing in the morning) It is a very laid back island, not much to do on Captiva but be sure to catch the unbelievable sunsets - ask about the "green flash"! You will not want to miss it! There is lots to do on Sanibel, biking, jet skiing, boating, shopping there and Fort Myers Beach. It is off season now, so the rates have dropped. If you are the outdoorsy type - go to Ding Darling Wildlife refuge - be sure to have bug spray and SPF 50! It is south florida and it will be hot. You will love the sand and surf. If you want an unbelievable beach - go to Siesta Key - near Sarasota. Squeeky white sand! Disney is fun - Epcot is the best to me! But we enjoyed Animal Kingdom and of course Magic Kingdom, but be prepared to drop a few $$$ there. In North Fort Myers, there is the Shell Factory which has a collection of every shell from all over the world - neat place - It's free to browse. Tampa has a zoo and Busch Gardens which is fun and beautiful. If you are a member of AAA, get the Florida book and the possibilities are endless and it is a wealth of information. Good luck and have fun!

Well Secrets is unfortuntely out since...well we did the math....and well....we're going to be broke...!
(Positive face on)
So instead we're going on a Florida Road Trip! We picked florida mainly because of the beach. Future hubby has never been and I was sick when I went when I was little. We're movers and relaxers at the same time so that's why we decided not to stay in one spot.
We're coming from Arkansas (no we're not hicks) and going down the panhandle into lower florida then back up a different route so we can get the most scenery.
First stop: St teresa beach house rental. I wanted to stay at a queit secluded beach house first so we can relax and destress from the wedding and have fun finally being married. BUT future Mr. Rock Candy has NO attention span at all. So I know he will not want to sit on a beach all day.
He is thinking he wants to do some trout fishing or deep sea fishing while we're there (he's kind of a country boy lol).
Then We're going to Sanibel/Captiva to do some shelling. We're really kids at heart! I really like the looks of Tween Waters Inn. It's definately in our price range and we get to have fun.
My mom suggested we go to Disney since we're there since he's never been and I had a bad sickly experience while there. Like I said we're really kids at heart!
I don't know what we'll do between or if we'll just go here. I was really wanting something more do do.
Do any of you have any more inexpensive suggestions of what we should see while in Florida?
Are any of you taking Road Trips?
