I asked for the delivery time (ie, delivered before 2:30 pm) to be put in the contract.

Substatutions – in mine it states if something natural wipes out all the roses in the country she will replace them asap at her cost with a sutable substatute

And do you want to be notified if there are substitutions. I know that sometimes it’s just out of the florists’ hands due to supplier, kind of flower, season, shipment etc.

Our deposit was $350 (that’s a flat rate deposit for everyone) to hold the date and the final balance is due 10 days before the event with no exceptions. Make sure a cancellation policy is in there. In addition, make sure it states all the delivery fees,set up, break down specifically.

The Knot has a book of lists that has been indespensible in my planning! You should check it out! It goes through questions to ask during vendor interviews and checklists for contracts. The book helps me feel organized when I am meeting with vendors; it took me a few times to not feel silly carrying it, but now I feel like I am doing a thorough job! Good luck!
