We just got our quote from a potential florist.  We not doing floral centerpieces but we are having one big pumpkin carved like a basket loaded with flowers at the guest book table.  Aside from that:

    Bride's bouquet

    1 MoH bouquet

    2 BM bouquets

Mom's flowers (each carrying 3 calla lillies)

    4 corsages

    Groom's Bout

FoB and BM (FI dad is his BM) Bouts

    2 Groomsmen bouts

6 other bouts (ushers, reader, etc.)

    Flower petals

    $708

My mom has an appointment with them today to go over each item line by line.  I'm hoping to get in lower.

I really hope they do =) With this economy work is better than no work so I'm assuming vendors are being a little more flexible?!

    =)

It depends on where you live but flowers can get rediculously expensive!

Here in the Twin Cities I'm looking at:

Bride's Bouquet, 3 BM Bouquets, 1 Jr. BM Bouquet, 1 Flower Girl Pomander, 2 small mother's bouquets, Groom's bout only, and approx. 45 small centerpieces (5 per 8ft table).  After labor, delivery, and taxes it is almost $1700.  Not too bad, especially because we are going with a very in-demand florist.

    @stephinpa - wow!  $708 is A-mazing!  I'm jealous!

I think a lot of the budget calculators break it down to 10% of your total budget, for flowers/decor.

Just to give you an idea, the quotes we got were around:

    Bridal Bouquet: $150
    BM Bouquets: $85
    Bouts: $10-15 each
    Mother Arrangements (small): $35
    Ceremony Arrangements: $85-125 each
Cocktail Table Flowers (small cups): $30 each
Centerpieces: $100-250 each (depending on size of table)
Other Large Reception Arrangements (bathroom, gift table, bar, etc): $85-125 each

I ended up using a florist for the personal flowers (bouquets, bouts, etc.) and church decor (4 large arrangements and aisle candles), and then DIY'd the flowers for the dining room tables and the rest of the flowers I needed for the reception.  I ended up spending about the same on both (and the DIY including the price of paying a friend $25/hour to do most of the assembly.)  If you're interested in DIY'ing at all to save money, I made a post with some tips that you could check out.  Good luck with the florist decision!

We went to Wegman's which is a slightly higher end grocery store.  So, don't forget to check your local grocery store's floral departments.  You might be surprised.

Don't mean for the pictures to be so big, just struggle a little bit on the resizing.

this won't help, but is something to keep in mind for bees getting married outside in nice weather, gardens, or whatever...

we spent $65.  really, the only flowers in our wedding were in my bridal bouquet.  no one seemed to notice the absence of flowers, as they were literally all around us.

I just spoke to a florist yesterday.

We're getting married in a botanical garden so since we're going to be surrounded by flowers, we don't need too many

    We're going to have:

    1 bridal bouquet

    3 BM bouquet

Centerpieces, which will be mismatched small vintage glass vases that I'm collecting, about 5-6 of them clustered on each table with 2-3 flowers in each one

Some random very small arrangements for gift table, cake table, etc.

She didn't put together the proposal yet but it sounds like it'll probably be aroudn $300-$400.

The peonies might be what runs the price up a bit.  We have worked with roses and hydrangeas before for many brides who are looking for something affordable.

Millie, I've asked for those two on all my requests to the florists. Are you a florist in Miami???? If so message me your info! =)
