Lisa the owner of Flower Flowers in Cresskill, NJ is awesome. I don't know if she's worked with non-floral arrangements before, but I do know she's reasonably priced and very creative. Cresskill is 15 minutes off the GWB just in case you are familure with norther NJ. Good luck!
I love my florist, Susan at Black Eyed Susies in River Edge, NJ. She has so many unique ideas. We are incorporating apples, leaves, branches, crystals and many other fall items into our wedding and she really tries to work into your budget.
A great resource for finding all the vendors you need is WeddingWire.com
Plus, it's a great place to get all your wedding planning questions answered.
Hope it helps,
Stefanie
I used Magnolia down in Tribeca I think. They were great - worked within our budget, delivery on time and the quality was great! I got married june 7th, and it was 96 that day! and all the flowers held up for the day and through brunch the next morning. Ask for Angelica, she is a sweetheart, and will try her best to work in your budget. She did our chuppah too although not sure how great they would be with the berries....
thanks Janna19! i just called and she is available!!! what a relief :) :) :)

i'm looking for a florist that ironically is willing to work with almost no flowers (yeah, i am going the unconventional route with my wedding). i wanted to focus on branches and possibly berries and/or feathers instead.
i was about to book a florist but realized that she was sneakily trying to charge me an arm and a leg. seriously, she wanted well over $2000 for boutonnieres alone! and when i asked why it was so expensive (another florist who had way more experience and was certified by the Botanical Gardens was willing to do all the boutonnieres for FREE!), the florist gave me some attitude. and after that, i have since decided not to sign a contract with her.
and here i am, looking for a florist. again. and i have less than 2 months before the wedding! HELP!!!
