I think that's about right. Our budget is $10k, our florals cost $775. So, almost 8%.
Ours came to around 8K I want to say, but we also rented floor length luxury linens and matching napkins, which we also included in that 8K. This came to about 9% of the total price of the wedding.
i don't have my final quote yet, but i'm using a ton of flowers and it's going all be under $1000 for a 8500 wedding.
im using all in season flowers - mums, dahlias, ranunculus, some callas, billy balls, fern tendrils
but flower prices really depend on where you are in the US, how much $$ they think you have, negotiations, etc.
you really have to be firm if you think they're trying to take advantage. don't let them =)

Here's the deal. I'm getting married in Rhode Island in September. I'm currently working with a few florists to figure out who will be the one. I have a very specific, simple, straightforward floral "plan," if you will. Mostly bells of ireland (traditionally used as a filler), white carnations (pomanders), and a little white ranunculus. No roses, no peonies, no tulips-- nothing expensive or out of season.
My florists need a range for a budget to work within. Now, I know you're saying "Well, AlmostMrsG, that's up to you, not us," but my parents and I have no idea what is "normal" or reasonable for a flower budget.
I read somewhere that 8--10% is a good figure. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks! We're clueless!
