Flower Colours

posted 11 months ago in Beehive

Hello weddingbee community,

I've been lurking for a few months and decided finally to just join in already! :) I am having a bit of trouble deciding on how to pick colours for my wedding party flowers. I know traditionally the bride will often have white flowers, while the bridesmaids have a colour. However, I am having red/orange calla lillies (I plan on wearing red shoes, after all). The girls' dresses will be a gorgeous "ocean" blue (not navy, but deep blue) and originally I was going to go with white calla lillies for them. Now I am wondering if I should just go with all bouquets being red/orange. I am having trouble visualizing how it will look if they have white and I have a colour. The wedding is this October, hopefully outside.

Anyone have any advice? Seen any good examples in weddings you have attended? Thanks!

It sounds like you prefer the idea of the girls carrying white flowers.  I think it will work fine!  Their flowers will coordinate with your dress.  It will also work if they carry coloured flowers.  I would suggest that to differentiate their bouquets from yours - just have them carry orange in that case.  It will really set off the blue of their dresses better than red flowers would.
