So, today we met with the florist to pick centerpieces and for a while I was torn between a classic cream/white centerpiece vs more vibrant colors (purples/pinks)…bridesmaid dresses are lapis (purple)…our wedding is in spring, I am leaning more towards color. The photo’s below show one of the three centerpieces we had in mind (this will be the main centerpiece) but on the actual day the flowers will be neater and more full (the florist was just playing around with ideas while we were there like the sticks coming out of the top – which we like!)..
My biggest concern is that most of the photos of our venue show more classic white/cream flowers SO as an alternative option we are thinking of doing white/cream flowers for the ceremony area and then doing color in the reception area (which is more modern)…here is a photo of the ceremony area:
SOO please help…what are your thoughts?!

Hmm I was going to say color (since those are gorgeous), but are you going to have the colored uplighting like the photo? If so, I actually think the cream/white look beautiful in that photo.

@ivoryowl: oops should have mentioned there will be NO uplighting, I’d love to have it but it’s more expensive!!

I’m assuming that the last pictures are actually pictures of the venue?
I would say totally go fro the vibrant centerpieces! The ceremony can be classic and traditional looking while the reception turns more into a party! Plus it already looks like your venue has purple lighting that would go great with the flowers 🙂

@soy: Welp, I missed your last post. While the uplighting would help to tie the room together, it’s not necessary. If you like the colored flowers I would still say go for it. Cream tends to go with most everything, and the flowers would look out of place. Are there any others ways you could incorporate the color into the decor?
