I’m puzzled by this too.  How old are yours?  Mine are 4 and almost 8, and they’re into a lot of different things.  They are my cousin’s daughters and even though they only live 20 miles from me, we’re all so busy that I hardly see them.  I think what I will do is have a “girl’s night out” with them a few weeks after the wedding as a thank you – take them to whatever kid friendly movie they want to see, and get ice cream afterwards or something.  I don’t think they need as much of a gift as the ‘maids, because all they have to do is look adorable and walk!

My biggest advice is to check out Club Libby Lu.  My daughters are 9 and 6 and for the past few years they have LOVED that store (I do too – makes me want to be a little girl again).  They even have makeovers for the little girls that are so much fun, I did this for a couple of their b-days and the kids all had so much fun.  Just a suggestion.

I think I’m going to give mine (4.5 years old) one of those “kids” digital cameras.  That way she can play with it at the reception if she wants and then have it to use at home too.

I had three flower girls. Two of them are 8 year old twins. I bought them kids’ aprons from Anthropologie. They were adorable and they loved them! Our other flower girl is 5. We got her a set of fake food/accessories for her play kitchen. She loves to “cook” people meals when they come to her house. Toys R Us was a great place to browse around for the younger kids!

I’m going to take my 3 year old flower girl to Build a Bear Workshop to build an animal. I have an alterior (sp?) motive for doing this…it will be sitting at the head of the aisle for her after she walks down and hopefully it will keep her occupied during the ceremony.

I got ours little swarovski and pearl necklaces that I customized myself (for a reasonable price) at Bonita J.  They looked so cute in them!

Get something non-wedding related that she will enjoy. If you don’t know what she likes, ask her mom what her interests are.

We had three flower girls ranging, ages 5,6, and 7. I put together little bags of goodies for them to use the day of the wedding and whenvever after that.  I bought pink recycleable shopping bags at Target (only $1!) and filled them with things like coloring book and crayons, glow sticks, a card game, a puzzle, a pen and notepad, and some princess pencils.  (There were a few other things, but I’m drawing a blank right now.)  I found a lot of the stuff in Target and Michaels in their dollar bins.  The girls loved them, and they were occupied on the wedding day!

Doctorgirl, I am going to check out Bonita J. I am getting the bm’s jewelry and it would be nice to know that out for the flowergirls too since they are girly girls.  Thanks!
