my 18yo cousin is being my flower girl… or as other people have been calling it ‘flower maiden’  my 17yo brother is being the ring bearer aka ‘lord of the rings’

But going the traditional route.. I don’t think 10 is at all too old!

I was 10 at my oldest sisters wedding. I was a JR bridesmaid . Why don’t you ask her? And atleast you still have abother neice to be the flower girl.

I feel like flower girls are usually young enough that you have to worry about them making it all the way down the aisle without freaking out! Do they even make flower girl dresses for 10 year olds? I’ve only really ever seen flower girls who were like 4 or 5.

I am having one 10 year old and one 9 year old as my flower girls. Those are the roles they want!

@mattsgirl813:  My 11-year-old cousin is going to be my flower girl.  She’s super excited. 🙂

I think anywhere upto age 11 is ok for a flower girl. They are still kids are that age. I think jr bridesmaid is more for kids in that inbetween tween/teenager period.

I think it depends on how mature she is, I have a cousin that is 11 but thinks she is 16.  I’m know if it were her she’d rather be a JBM.  You should just trust your judgement on what role you think she should have and go for it.  I’m sure she’ll be thrilled to be involved.

Maybe she could be like a flower bridesmaid, give her a nice basket of flowers, that she won’t throw.  So she has the basket like the flower girl but a sort of bouquet like a bridesmaid.  At her age thats kind of what I did at my aunts wedding because I was a little stubborn and didn’t like the title of flower girl because it was to babyish lol. It’s kind of an awkward age but I think either choice would be fine 🙂

I think it depends on the girls maturity level and height, etc.

My FG was 10 years old. She did not wear a white frilly little girl dress though. Her dress was the JB version on the BM dress in opposite colors.

@mrsSonthebeach:  They actually make flower girl dresses up to size 16, which I can actually fit into with the exception on my boobs.
