I need ideas for what our 6yro flower girl should carry down the aisle.

We just found out that she WILL be able to attend our wedding - which is in 7 weeks. Our resort charges $200 for flower petals to throw... and i'm just not paying for that. A smaller version of my bouquet is around $70, so a better option than petals to throw.

We'll be on the beach and are using pinwheels to line our aisle (I had some custom made in our colors from an Etsy designer). So, I thought that I could have her carry 1 or 2 pinwheels.

Perviously, I was going to order her a branch/flower pomander from an etsy designer, but is that just boring?

I'd really like some other ideas or input. I feel like I have to make this decision soon!

    I think a pinwheel would be super-cute!

The pinwheel idea is really cute! And would tie in perfectly!

@bells - in order to get the flower petals, whether or not she throws them is still $200.... boo. So, I guess there isn't a charge to throw them. I worded that incorrectly.

@Miss Starry Night: whoa, that's pretty crazy - $200? I think a pomander, a smaller version of the bouquet, OR the pinwheels would be adorable. I think I like the pinwheels idea best.

@ jduck: yeah. I was really stunned when our resort planner gave us that price. We don't have our options of florists, so I feel that the flowers portion is kind of a racket.

My idea is only if your resort allows: have a basket of shorter cut roses....She can hand them out to people at the ends of the aisles as she walks down(alternating sides). This is common in Catholic weddings....I've seen videos...because many churches don't allow flower petals to be thrown.

If you really want to do petals maybe you could purchase silk or dried petals before you get to your resort or is that not allowed? If that doesn't work, a little girl with pinwheels sounds absolutely adorable. My fg is going to be carrying a daisy pomander, so I like those too!

I'd get her a little basket (like one you would normally put petals in) but instead get a small bouquet made that fits inside the basket.  She could then carry the basket of flowers down the aisle.
