@mrshahn2b:  I like the last photo you posted.

The calla lily in ice is a bit too out there for me personally.

I also think calla lilies look great in really tall vases. They kind of mirror the lines of the flower somehow.

@mrshahn2b:  If you think you’ve seen too many submerged calas ditch them altogether, along with the roses since it sounds like you want something unique and different!

I’d start with purple anthurium which give you the same structured look as the cala. Pair it with copper spider mum and purple football mums to soften it up. Purple orchids and orange protea to tie it together and peach hypericum to fill things out.  If you’re feeling like you want to push it a little add purple artichokes, fiddle ferns, and pink ginger.

I’ve never seen calla lillies in ice. That’s stunning. I like low centerpieces anyway.

@mrshahn2b:  oh I like the top one with the candle and callas!  If you’re not a flower person, what do you like? No need to have flowers if you don’t like them. Since you posted a pic with moss, what about something like this with copper bowls instead of silver and add votive candles, maybe in copper holders. Instead of ferns you could use purple succulents to bring in the purple. If you want to DIY you could do these up ahead of time easy.

Oh and for your ladies, there’s a lot of alternatives to flowers. One of my friends had the BM’s carry lanterns which was gorgeous. Abother alternative would be pomander balls, here’s a couple of examples of non-floral ones. 🙂
