I went with whatever was in season!

For my bouquet, 2 BM bouquets, and 5 centerpieces, it cost me about $150!

My bouquet was all white roses with some ivy (no fillers), my BMs had red roses with no fillers, and my centerpieces had Statice, Lilly-of-the-Valley, Hydrangea, Tulips, and a few other flowers.

Then the 5 buttonieres and 5 corsages were another $120. That sucked.

@Bubbles42:  Ok, I’m going with Whole Foods, too, but I called around, talked to a few diff WF dpts and found that they all recommended one woman (Stephanie at a WF in Chicago) to do wedding flowers.  Not getting married till Dec, already know all the flowers! Since she orders all the flowers, she was able to tell me exactly what they’ll have in stock, and she’s going to place a couple special orders for me.  Personally, I like to do everything ahead of time and wouldn’t feel comfortable waiting till the month of my wedding.  Totally up to you, but I would keep WF shopping for the right floral dpt!  🙂

@aekc:  I’m considering using WF for my wedding next summer and I’m in Chicago as well. Can you tell me which WF Stephanie is at?

@Bubbles42:  Oops, hadn’t considered that, sorry!  If you’re still interested in WF, check out their premade bouquets (they come in various colors) — I think they’re basically the same year round, and I’m buying them for my BMs and centerpieces at only $10 each.  Good luck!!

@MaryRachel:  Absolutely!  She’s at the WF at Halsted and Waveland, and she’s amazing.  She’s done plenty of weddings, great communication, and has told me that her priorities are 1) making my wedding beautiful, and 2) keeping me within my $500 budget!

@aekc:  …which is ONE BLOCK from my best friends place. Awesome! I will make him go with me; he loves flowers. Thanks so much for the info!

@aekc:  And, if you don’t mind my asking, what are you getting for $500? Just bouquets? Centerpieces? How many?

@MaryRachel:  Ok, I’d have to pull out my notes, but offhand this is what I recall:

1 Bride’s bouquet

4 bouts for groomsmen + groom

5 BM bouquets

15 centerpieces

2 altar/ceremony thingys

Actually, I’m going to ditch the last 2 flower arrangements and get 4 more bouts and 4 corsages for famiy — I think we’ll still keep it at $500!  I’m also providing my own vases.  Let me know if you want to meet her and I’ll PM her email! 🙂

MaryRachel:  Did you end up using Whole Foods for the flowers? Have any pics?
