    Hey there portlanders + oregonians! :)

    Does anyone know of a good place to buy flowers the day of?  Or the day before a wedding?  I was thinking saturday market might have some options, but it's so hard to find info on the vendors on the website.  Plus I found out about the portland flower market, but apparently they only sell to florists.  Isn't there something where the public can buy flowers from stalls?  Or direct-from-farm?

    I don't think Saturday Market has a ton of flower vendors, but the local farmers markets always have a ton!  I'm not sure where abouts in Portland you live or will be that day, but the Beaverton Farmers Market always has lots of gorgeous flower stalls, even into the fall.  The Portland Farmers Market on the PSU campus also seems to have a good number of flower vendors.  I know there's a pretty big one somewhere on the eastside too...maybe Gresham?  Most of the farmers markets have websites that you can look up for more info.  Good luck :)

    Hey ther Miss Rye Bread. Just realized you're going to be a portland Bride. I'm from across the river in Vancouver. Any how. I saw this website for a farm where you can pick your own flowers that sounds interesting to me. I'd like to go there to pick flowers just because, but having a wedding gives me all the more reason want to go. I've heard they do weddings there too. http://krugersfarmmarket.com/

    In fact here's some one who had a wedding there http://www.stylemepretty.com/2008/12/05/real-wedding-from-the-paul-rich-studio/

    Here are a couple other places I'd like to check out also:

    Hey, thanks again, guys!

    I think we're going to do a "u-cut" flower thing with the whole fam the day before the wedding at kruger farm on sauvie island.

    Thanks for the ideas! :)

    I see you've moved on, but I thought I'd add for any other local brides looking for flowers.

    The Saturday Market won't have flowers, as pp said. You'd want farmers markets. There are many in the area. The PSU and Beaverton ones are the largest, I think.

    New Seasons Markets have flower stalls. The one on SW Division has the largest, in my opinion (although I haven't been to them all). All the stalls have high-quality flowers. Whole Foods also has flowers, but a smaller selection.

    I DIYed my flowers. I pre-ordered from Swan Island Dahlias (www.dahlias.com). They provided excellent flowers, customer service, and price. I highly recommend.

    Woo Hoo! I'd love to hear what you think about them when you go out. I won't be able to visit them until my next trip home and am not sure when that will be. Have you contacted them at all yet?

    The Vancouver Farmers Market (http://www.vancouverfarmersmarket.com/) is open Saturdays and Sundays and has a good selection of fresh-cut flowers. I want to go this DIY flower route too, having worked at a floral shop for a while, I know the mark-up on wedding flowers and it is just ridiculous...

    I talked to one of the flower vendors at the Vancouver farmer's market and they said to check with them a week or two before my wedding and I could "special order" the flowers that I want

    MnkyGrl- they said that? Does it cost more than the usual price range of $7-$15? I plan on going again on Saturday...My wedding isn't till October, wonder if they would still have flowers selling...

    There are many little shops around 21st and 23rd in NW Portland that sell Flowers.   Zupans also typically has a large selection.

    TJs (Trade Joes) also has a beautiful selection of in-season flowers. I was there yesterday and almost caved on my flower-free decorum. ^^;
