flower preservation?

posted 8 months ago in Beehive

What are you doing with your flowers after the wedding is over?  Has anybody heard of getting your bouquet flattened and then framed?  Has anybody done this?  How did it turn out and how much did it cost?  Does anybody know of a place in Pennsylvania (near the Poconos or Philadelphia) that does the flatten-and-frame thing?  Any other suggestions of what to do with your bouquet??  Sorry for all the questions and thank you in advance for any and all suggestions!! :)

I am getting my flowers preserved and then framed.  My florist is doing it for me - and for only $85!  You should ask your florist if she can, or if she can suggest someone!

:( My florist doesn't do it and when I asked if they knew anyone that did, he said that he heard they do that some place in New York...not exactly a name and number!  So, I turned to Weddingbee for some suggestions!  hahah.

I live in northeast PA, and my florist had info on people who do shadow boxes.  They could put in your whole bouquet or just part of it.  I don't have the info on me, but I will get it and let you know tomorrow.

I'm using Missy from Flowers into Paintings, that I think I originally read about here on weddingbee a looong time ago.  Her paintings are beautiful and I love the fact that I'll be able to do something with my flowers that I can enjoy every day.

Thank you so much for your suggestions!  :)  Has anybody done anything else with their bouquets?

I can't decide if I want to do this or not.  I keep thinking that I would like to show it to my kids someday.  Then I try to imagine where it will sit for the other fifteen years before that, and the forty (or whatever) after that.  I am sure that it will end up in a box buried somewhere in my future garage, which to me is not money well spent.  I think I will just have to count on my photographer to take lots of nice pictures of it.  I think I am alright with that.
