Our proposal is for right around $3200...and that doesn't get you much in Philly! Pretty much just the basics.
EDIT: My bouquet is $250 (yeah, I know), 7 bridesmaids $525, boutioneers for the groom/dads/gramps $30 (guys are doing pocket squares) flowergirl/ringbearer $40, moms/gram $95, $50 to rent two columns, place card table $75, 16 centerpieces $1400 plus $500 delivery/room turn/strike and 6% sales tax..i think i'm forgetting something...god this makes me want to vom.
for my bouquet, 2 bridesmaid's bouquet's, 4 coursages (mom's and grandma's), 5 bouts (groom, groomsmen, and dads), and flower petals for the flower girl it will be $300. i'm diying the rest.
We're in South Jersey but the wedding was an hour or so north of us. Flower prices were SO varied, that I asked the hotel coordinator for some suggestions other than their 'preferred vendors'. One of the assistants at the hotel gave me the name of someone she used and sent me the link to her wedding pictures so I could see. I contacted them and through emails back & forth (and my sending her pictures of things my daughter liked),she easily gave me phone estimates. She was WAY cheaper and was just 20 minutes away from the hotel.
We only got a bridal bouquet,2 BM's,4 corsages,2 orchids for my hair, 3 champagne roses for the bride's hair,8 bouts, bag of rose petals for cake table,2 long stem memory roses with greens,a large vase of roses for the escort card table and a large spray for the gazebo which was then used on the sweetheart table for the reception. Everything was roses with the exception of the BM...theirs were roses & tropical lillies. Our total was under $600.
Just found the receipt.
Bridal bouquet,hand tied $120.
BM's lillies & roses $50. ea
Bag of rose petals cake table $10.
8 bouts ,roses $7. ea
2 dendrobium orchids for me MOB $10.
4 rose wrist corsages $25. ea
2 white memory roses $12.
4 ft. gazebo spray $100.
Vase of roses,escort table $60.
Total was $567.96 plus tax
thank you everyone for letting me know that i need to do some shopping!! lol
We had carnations (not everyone's cup of tea, but they were tightly packed and very modern) - my bouquet, my MOH bouquet, two bouts (these were button mums), 12 table centerpieces and one large centerpiece for the buffet table, and two bunches of button mums to put in various places and it was less than $300, total. Granted, I had my own ribbon for the bouquets and vases for the centerpieces, plus I picked them up (typical type A right here!), so she could charge less based on that.
My bouquet was $125 where it consisted of all roses and my bridesmaid bouquets cost $100. All my centerpieces which consisted of roses, daisies, and lilies cost $50 per table.
Well I negotiated with the floral store to let them know that I would bring in more business if she could get me flowers at a discount for the wedding.
i loved packed carnations Laylabelle i think they are just as beautiful as roses and they come in such great colors.. especially purple since that IS my color lol..
I paid $185 for my bouquet, $15 a piece for boutonnieres in Berkeley, CA.
I like this thread! Beautiful flowers girls! I am buying my online from ftdflowers.com I am on something called "MYPOINTS" and by doing surveys and clicking through sites and buying stuff through Mypoints I get awarded points. Then I can cash the points in to get gift cards. I've got enough points right now for about $300 in gift cards. I am going to order the flowers in bulk and boutineers. I think the only the only thing I will or am willing to really spend on is my bouquet. But I am going to look into a grocery store believe it or not! My friend's little sis did her flowers with ShopRite or Price Chopper and they were so pretty and cheap!
I got all my flowers from Costco for about $500. We had my bouquet and my sister's bouquet done by a friend (we supplied flowers), two small mothers' bouquets in silver holders, and about 10 boutonnieres, and then we made our own centerpieces (21 or 22?) with about 30 white and yellow roses each, delphinium, moss, and ivy. This was five years ago, but I was *very* happy with the savings!
@elysemichelle - Me too!! Our wedding was pretty nontraditional, so I didn't want to go the traditional route on flowers (tho carnations are getting more and more popular). Here are some pics, tho I can't load the best ones yet (they're only in slideshow form right now).
I don't know where in NJ you are but I just got a quote from a florist in Morristown for just over $1,500. That includes my bouquet ($165), 4 bridesmaid bouquets ($75 each), 8 bouts. ($15 each), flowers for moms ($25-$35 each), centerpieces ($50 each) and flowergirl flowers ($15 each). I am using mostly dahlias and having small centerpieces, so it isn't too pricey. You can PM me if you would like the name of the florist!

i just met with a florist yesterday and we got some prices.. i know that flowers are prob one of the other things that you will have to pay a decent amount for. but what is everyone else paying? how much are you paying for the individual wedding items? ie. bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, centerpieces?
