Let me start by saying… I love flowers. ADORE flowers. So now that I’m starting to think about my wedding flowers, I’m getting pretty excited! But I need to come up with a roundabout budget and was hoping you ladies could help me out.
I would love to hear your experiences–what was/is your floral budget, what did you get for the money, and where are you located? I would also LOVE to see pictures 🙂
We will be needing the bridal bouquet, 6 BM bouquets, probably 9 boutennieres, and 2 floral arrangements (not sure what) for the MOB and MOG. In addition, I’m looking into floral centerpieces but this depends entirely on pricing. As an alternative I may go with only half floral centerpieces or no floral centerpieces at all and use DIY pieces instead.

I DIY’d all my flowers and got TONNES of compliments on them. People didn’t believe I did them myself (with the help of my stepmom), especially my bouquet (which I am very sad will not last forever.
I spent $470 on flowers, but had quite a few left over, could probably have spent only $400 and been fine. I ordered 75 white carnations, 75 dark purple carnations, 75 lavender roses, 50 green hydrangeas, 7 bunches (no clue how many it worked out to be) of green button mums, and some filler. The dahlias are from my Dad’s garden.
Here are some pics, of all the flowers in bulk, all the centrepieces, one of me with my bouquet and one close up of the bouquet 🙂

Flowers were a large cost for us as they were very important. We spent over $8,000 on flowers…they were everywhere.

@Treejewel19: Your flower budget was basically my budget for my entire wedding.
I WISH I could have afforded that many flowers, very beautiful!!!!!!

@O.My.Heart: Ha ha, yeah I went a little over board. I knew right away though that they were so important. Every location smelled like heaven. I probably could have saved a ton DIY the flowers but oh goodness with soooo many flowers it would have been a nightmare! The sad part was the end of the night having to leave them behind. I took some home and covered every inch of free space I could.
Love your colors, they are so vibrant and refreshing!

@LilySarah: I think we spent about $3800 for 12 centerpieces, 7 bouts, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, my flowers, cocktail hour flowers, ceremony pieces, headpieces for the two flowergirls, and the grandmother’s corsages.

I spent $1540 for:
- my bouquet/toss bouquet ($185)
- 5 BM bouquets ($45 ea)
- 11 bout. ($10-$13.50)
- 4 corsages (2 ea @ $25 and $18)
- 11 small floral centerpiece (think 6″ square) ($45 ea)
- 2 larger displays ($85 and $55)
- 6 very small vases (think 2″ square with a few flowers) for bar area furniture ($12.50 ea)
I don’t have my pictures back yet but here are some we took as we were setting things up. No pics of our bouquets/larger arrangements until I get my pictures back! But they were mostly purple and red with some green. I did my own garland for the ceremony room and nothing else because we were in there all of 15 minutes. I met with 5 or 6 florists (all who had amazing reviews), and this was the best price. Others went up to about $1900-2000 for this.

Our budget is very limited, as we are paying for everything ourselves. I originally planned to order this artificial bouquet from http://www.plumeriasweddingflowerboutique.com/ for about $250:
However, I found the same real-touch flowers on sale for .98/each so I’m going to make it myself, with easily a $200 savings.
I may still purchase flowers from the grocery store or Costco to arrange arround the small, outdoor venue, but our flower budget will not exceed $150.

My flowers! I don’t really have an answer for the budget because I used an “elopement package” and my flowers were included in the total. : )

I only got flowers for the wedding party, our parents and 2 grandmothers. So it was not alot. I am highly allergic to flowers so we kept them simple. Our budget was $600. We did tall candle centerpieces for the tables, which had a single flower at the base and flowers for the cake (the flower for the centerpieces were left over from what the cake did not need.)
