Also, what could our flower girl carry instead of scattering petals? We're not doing an aisle runner and don't want to deal with the mess (we're responsible for cleanup). Should we give her a little corsage or something?
And re: the smaller bouquet option...how many flowers, then, if I'm only having 6-7 myself?
A kissing ball would be cute for the flower girl.
@bluespurrs: I never even thought of that! I'm guessing it'd be fairly inexpensive to DIY...
I'm not sure if the peach would look that great next to your dark green dress, just my opinion though. I voted for the baby's breath for the girls I think it would complete their dresses as well as yours beautifully.
I also like the idea of a kissing ball for your flower girl. You can even do this with the baby's breath.
I love that baby's breath kissing ball. :) And I wouldn't do an obviously peach rose--more like an ivory with a warmer tint.
We gave our flower girl a basket with a little bouquet in it. You could put some roses and/or baby's breath in her basket and have her carry that. I personally really dislike the look of the kissing balls - They just look silly, IMO.
I really like the idea of baby's breath bouquets for your BMs though. I think with your bouquet being so small that making theirs out of roses would just look exactly like your bouquet (and I'd think you want yours to stand out!).
@Mrs.KMM: That's very true, and part of the reason I was hesitant to do it that way. But would the baby's breath against white dresses be too much white for an evening wedding in the fall?
@Statutory Grape: Maybe you could add some greenery to the babys breath (or maybe make a bouquet for the BMs out of greenery)? I'd forgotten that your BMs are in white dresses! :)
Maybe something similar to one of these concepts with some babys breath and sized accordingly?
Or - if you google search images of "Green Bouquets" there are some really gorgeous ones that would work great with your BMs. Another option to consider!
Those do look a little modern for my tastes...I could always ask the florist what's recommended, too. :)
Our flowergirl is carrying a very small little bouquet. She's 10 and I thought she'd like having her own bouquet than scattering petals.
I'm liking the baby's breath idea for your bouquets. I think they're pretty and classic.
I should mention that our flower girl is going to be 3, lol. I do like baby's breath bouquets, too...
I kind of like pomanders, but sometimes not...it's kind of hit or miss, I guess. The baby's breath pomander is cute, but honestly, I think they're a little weird in general.
I think a little posey of peach roses or of the same flowers you're using could be pretty. Something that consists of maybe 4 or 5 roses that could fit easily into one of their hands.
Or, I like baby breath flowers. I do feel like roses are more classic & definitely embody whatever decade you're going for.
@LadyGoodman: I really wanted peonies, but they're out of season (and expensive, to boot). Garden roses are similar, but if I have to, I can deal with the more traditional-looking florist roses. At 4-5 stems per girl, will that look too similar to mine?
Man, am I ever leaning toward baby's breath...it's so classic and lovely.

I'll do this in bullet form since it's easier, lol.
What type of flowers would you recommend? I am in love with this bouquet and want something similar (but WAY smaller):
So, light peach/ivory roses with some feathers. Important note: I am planning on a VERY small bouquet myself of perhaps 6-7 flowers.
What types of bouquets should the three ladies have? Ivory? Peach? Peach isn't one of our colors but I am in love with light peach roses--they have that special vintage feel, to me (and I normally loathe roses). Garden roses would be ideal, but I have no idea if they'd be available at a reasonable cost in November.
Our colors are dark green and plum, btw. We're doing pocket squares for the guys instead of bouts.
I'm going in for a rough flower estimate on Friday...our total budget (in light of other recent expenses) for flowers is roughly $100.
What would you recommend for them?
