I have been looking into flowers for our September wedding and I am trying very hard not to spend too much as our budget is not very large.  I have saved this part for last as I dreaded it the most.  I plan on boutonierres for all of the guys and a small bouquet for myself (maybe 12 roses).  Too often do I see the bouquets tossed on a table to die (even if placed in water).  I would hate to pay $50+/bouquet for 5 bridesmaids only to see them wilt and die.  It seems like such a waste of money.

I thought about a single rose for each of them but then I saw the idea of parasols, which would be perfect for our outdoor Texas wedding.  Would parasols (light yellow) with maybe a bracelet corsage be a bad idea?  My mother and the FMIL have both said they do not want corsages, so I thought this would be great for the girls.  The parasols would still allow them to hold something and shade them from the sun.  Am I being to practical?

Also, any corsage ideas would be helpful too.  If it helps, our wedding colors are burgundy, navy and a very light yellow to accent.  I was looking at Black Magic roses and Sahara roses with maybe hypericum or freesia.  The yellow roses are too bright.  I was thinking maybe navy or light yellow ribbon.

Look into the floral department at HEB... choose an HEB that is advertising their florist services (usually a bigger one)... although any HEB would probably do it.  We are using HEB and they are half the price of quotes I was receiving from florists.

    BTW - Parasols sounds fun.

I'm saving money by using a lot of dalhias.  They are very colorful, come in a range of sizes and fairly inexpensive (and in season). http://pages.prodigy.net/patheck/_uimages/BESTCUTS.jpg

Alostromeria (Peruvian Lilly) are also in expensive, hearty and come in a variety of colors. http://www.delaflowers.com/images/products/TF22-1_H.jpg
