depends on what kind of flowers are used and if they are off season.....can you describe them or show a pic?
Think of centerpieces as a floral arrangement you would send on a special occasion. They do run $50-80 bucks. I used to arrange flowers and well, they are just expensive, and it tends to add up as you dress each table. Depending on exactly what you want and how neutral your ceremony flowers are, I would highly recommend the offerings of Costco. They have very reasonable rose, cala, and sunflower centerpieces available online--so even if there isn't a costco near you, you could order them. They also offer ceremony flower packs as well.
That seems very reasonable to me and ours are more expensive! It really does depend on what kind of flowers you use and how elaborate you get. I quickly learned that my very favorite and must-have flower, the peony, is one of the most expensive blooms by far. Roses are usually not too bad, as are hydrangea. Flowers aren't cheap but they're so worth it, don't skimp on the flowers!
I'm doing 2 centerpieces- a manzanita branch arrangment and candle arrangement on every other table. This is helping me save some $$ because the candles are cheaper then the trees
See if purchasing the containers (vases or otherwise) would reduce the costs per arrangement. I saved significantly by buying wholesale and paying the florist only for flowers and setup.
$80/centerpiece doesn't sound that out of line to me unless they are very small (not a lot of flowers) and simple.
we're doing diy and buying wholesale and i still thought they were expensive, at $23 per bunch. but that's one type of flower, in season, with no arranging necessary.
Yikes, $80 sounds like a lot but I guess that's relative. It all depends on where you are, whats in season and how much you planned on spending. Ours are about, $45 I believe. They're really simple though, just square glass vases with hydrangeas and peonies.
chicago is so expensive! i will have 10 tables, three bms, 3gms, and a few corsages and it will cost $3000... and that was one of the best deals i found!
That's what we were quoted too for our floral centerpieces. To save money, we only had floral centerpieces on half the tables and candelabras on the other half. You still get a luxurious feel, but for much less, and the candelabras should help to make our outdoor evening twinkle.

Hi all, just wondering how much you're spending about on your centerpieces? I thought the pictures I chose were all practical, but last night I went to meet with our florist and was shocked!! Is $80 a centerpiece really steep or do I need to step into 2010?!
