    Hi Bees!

I'm having a bit of a flower conundrum....I was originally going to do all my flowers myself, but have decided to have a florist do the bouquets, bouts, and corsages.  Bride bouquet quotes are $150-200, BMs are $100-125ish, bouts $12-15 and corsages $20-25.  Is this average?  We got quoted $100-110 on centerpieces (simple ones), and can do them ourselves for about $30-35 (huuuuuuuge savings!). The total with centerpieces from the florist (not including any other floral decorations) would be about $2500.

How much are your flowers setting you back?  Am I crazy for thinking that $100/centerpiece (we have about 15 tables) is insane in the membrane?  :)

100 is a lot, but I got quoted between 60-75 for simple ones from florists in PA. It depends on where you live, but sadly that doesn't sound so out of the ordinary to me. There are plenty of girls around here who did their own for like $10 a table. I paid a florist and mine were about $60/table.

I'm only getting personal flowers - NO decorations so they're fairly cheap - $360 for a brides bouquet, 3 BM bouquets, a FG bouquet, 8 bout's, and a corsage for my mom.

There is no option for no DIY and less than $1000. I'm getting a florist and it's only costing me $700 with delivery and everything. I'd honestly rather someone else worry about it.

BTW, my huge centerpieces, complete with lighted water, branches, and hanging candles are only costing $30 a piece. $100 is highway robbery.

Sorry, I keep trying to add a <$1000 threshold, but it keeps getting bumped.  :(

I do live in the city, and I totally get that that comes with a much higher price tag, but at the same time, if I can do these myself (buy 2 cylinder vases/table = $3/ea CB Outlet, plus 1 bunch hydrangea = approx $5, plus 10 stems white rose varietal = $18ish) for $30, and they get a discount on flowers and vases, why do they charge do much?  (I guess because they can.)

How about the wedding party flowers?  Is that reasonable?

@SDAli, I wish it would cost $360 for the personal flowers!  It seeming like $750-900 depending on who I go with.

I'm paying $250 for personal flowers (only two people in the wedding party), doing candle centerpieces, and DIYing ceremony flowers.  I'll have 18 mason jars filled what whatever flowers I pick from my garden or pick up at the farmer's market that day.  It's way easier to DIY if you're really flexible about things like specific type of flower or even color.  For those, I will be spending less than $100.  Those quotes for bouquets sound really high- what types of flowers are you asking for?

We paid around $400 but we had DIY flowers out the wazoo.   Bouquets and centerpieces and huge arrangement of flowers in the entrance of the house and at the church.

    here is my budget breakdown

I live in the city. Flowers are expensive AND I went to two other places before this one that didn't give me quite as much bang for my buck. one place quoted me $3500 for carnation centerpieces among other flowers in the proposal. wtf?

SO here's what we came up with:

Bride: Bouquet-black mini calla lilies with sunset underpinning, statement size colored gems and feather accent:$250

    6 BM: $75 each;FG: $35;Ring Bearer: $5;MOB/MOG $35 each;FOG/FOB: $10 each;Grandma: $25;GPa:$10;Readers: $35 altogether

For the ceremony-Renting two column for two arrangements from the recepion to sit on$50;bar area decor$140;place card table $75; 16 centerpieces $1400; extra enhancements $300; delivery/setup/room turn/strike$500/tax$207.30

Florals are going to be (sunset colors) rothchilds, safari sunset, pinsushions, etc...crystals, feathers, funky elegance. And we are paying in cash so we get a 5% discount. It's a lot, but I'm lazy so I'll pay for the services. I also have no idea what this is going to look like-we didn't do a mock up and I want to be suprised!!!

Flowers for my bouquet are white Garden Roses (I wanted Ranunculus, and 1 florist said they could do them, the other sugg the Garden Roses bc Ranuculus aren't in season in July), with green Hypericum berries, a few Stephanotis, and a couple Lady Slipper Orchids....and now I know that Garden Roses are muy expensivo, as are the LS Orchids.

BM bouquets are green Garden Roses with Hydrangea (I think?), and Hypericum berries.  Groom's bout is Hypericum berries w/Stephanotis, Groomsmen bouts are Green Orchids, and I can't remember what we decided to do with the dads/grandfathers bouts and moms/grandmoms corsages....some kind of white flower in the same family I think?

I've also pondered doing a 6" cylinder vase with a stem of white hydrangea along with a 9-10" cylinder vase filled w/granny smith apples for centerpieces (our colors are black and white with grass/apple green and silver accents) instead of all flower centerpieces.  Apples = mucho less expensive.

We are having a florist do my bouquet, three bm bouquets, 11 bouts and 9 corsages with some single blooms for floating in our centerpieces.  The total is under $1000 for all that including delivery and setup.  I should note however that our florist is a very small local business in the midwest and the woman is growing 90% of the flowers for our needs in her own humongous garden, rather than getting them from a separate grower.  The only flowers she has to get from someone else are the cymbidium orchids for the bouts.

Mine will be about $700 total from a local florist for table centerpieces, bouquets, small mom's bouquets, a couple of bouts and two flower girl halos. We didn't pick any really expensive flowers.

My flowers are going to cost just under $1100, but it includes A LOT.

For this price, I am getting my bridal bouquet, 2 maid of honor bouquets, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 jr. bridesmaid bouquet, 3 wrist corsages, 1 groom bout, 5 groomsmen bouts, 3 father/grandfather bouts, 10 pomanders, an aisle runner, and two pieces for my escort cards/gift tables.

My bouquet will consist mainly of garden roses, and everyone else will have ranunculus pieces.

I'm figuring $50 for my cascading bouquet, maybe $10 each for bout & corsages, $20 centerpieces including the vases and floral foam, $10 for shepherd hooks, vase and flowers to line the aisle, $20 to hang flowers from the tree.  Rounding up, about $200 - $250 to DIY.

My flowers are costing about $1500 which includes the following:

    My bouquet

    4 simple BM (all hydrangea)

    2 corsages

    Arch flowers

    Leaves to line the aisle

Petals for flower girl, and cake table

    And 19 centerpieces

We found someone who does it more on the side, but I am totally flex when it comes to flowers and I am sooooo glad to not have that as another to do.

Your flower quotes do seem pretty expensive and I live in a pretty metro city as well. The quotes for the bouts and coursages seem pretty standard but the bouquets and centerpieces seem pretty over-priced. You should definitely check out a couple of other places.

I'm having a florist to my bouquets, bouts, coursages, later archway piece and 2 centerpiece for $665.00 I'm DIY'ing my centerpieces and getting the flowers frmo the flower mart. You can definitely do it on your own... just try not to design a centerpiece that takes too much work. :) I'm using single stems for mine so it'll be simple.

    DIY- $100 total

$50 of real flowers from various grocery stores for bouquets (4)

$50 of fake flowers for centerpieces (18 tables) and bouts (6) and arch decoration.  Each centerpiece cost $12 total for manzanita, flowers, candles, lanterns, numbers, vase, and sand.

we paid $300 for the florist to do my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, 4 coursages, 5 bouts, and flower girl petals.

we diy'ed the centerpieces, i think it was $25 per centerpiece. they were easy for us to do, we chose one type of flower, cut them, and plopped them in the vase.

I ordered my bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 toss bouquet, 12 boutineres, and 7 corsages from afloral.com.  There stuff is silk, but it looks almost real and they are so pretty.  I spent under $70 dollars because I got all the bouquets on closeout!

My flowers were less than $1000.  I was quoted $800 altogether for bride's bouquet, 4 BM bouquets, 15 very simple centerpieces of two irises each, some corsages and bouts, and two big arrangements to sit on the floor at the ceremony.

The price for your bouquet is spot on, the BM bouquets seem a little pricey though.  And your centerpieces are outrageous especially if they are simple as you say.  I think if I had ordered roses from my florist, she would have charged $5 per stem, so multiply that times how many roses you have in your centerpieces to get the amount my florist would have charged for your centerpieces.

Keep in mind that roses are expensive compared to other options out there.  You could probably downgrade to carnations to save money (which is what I did for our bouquets).

Also, you could totally do your centerpieces yourselves.  Make sure you have a big space in your fridge to store the flowers when they come in a few days before your wedding.  Then delegate a couple friends to help arrange them into centerpieces the day before.  The trick is to keep the flowers refridgerated as long as possible so they look the freshest on the day of.

I'm DIYing - mine will be around $550 but that's only centerpieces and my bouquet since I'm not having a bridal party. I'm getting mainly 400 roses and 72 garden roses and spray roses since I only have 10 tables. I did a test run and that should be more than enough.

I am DIYing mine, I'm probably on the extreme here and I am using my peonies from my garden, the previous original owners planted them along the entire side of the house. They just started to bloom a couple of days ago and so far I have about 40 buds stored in the fridge and at the end of it, I will have about 100 blooms if all goes well...

I will be growing my own grass seeds and mixing them with the peonies so I would say that my cost is for the containers, grass seeds and soil so I'm thinking at the end of it, it will cost me probably about $100

I'm DIY on the floral front and plan on spending about $600.  So I'm not much help in that aspect.  However, I can tell you that the smaller areas outside the city have much more forgiving prices.  Have you thought about checking out a few places outside the city that will deliver to your venue?  You may be able to find some more respectable prices...worth a shot, right?

I saved a lot by not doing flower centerpieces. We bought flameless candles, glass votive holders and lace. The votive holders will be wrapped in lace and places on a mirror. I bought navy rose petals (silk) for cheap and am scattering those on the mirrors.

As for our flowers, our total was just over $300 for my flowers, the bridal party, the groom and his guys, the parents, and grandparents. We found an awesome florist who does everything except for the bride's flowers at cost (don't ask me HOW she makes any money)! Most of our flowers are calla lillies <3 and my bouquet has flowers and mini callas in it.
