Can FI at least help you to piece some names together? Did she at least give you addresses??
To be honest, at this point, I would either sit down with her and go over each and every name, or I would just send out the STDs the way she wrote them on the list.
Omg that is SO ANNOYING! I just finished finalizing the guest list and seating chart, so I feel your pain, lol.
I would ask your FI for names first, and any missing pieces try asking for FMIL or maybe your FFIL?
FI is trying to help but since there are so many families with the same last name it has been a little bit of a nightmare. She did give some addresses but not all.
@2PeasinaPod: I agree. Don't make her laziness your problem and let it stress you out. You don't know these people, so you shouldn't have to suffer. Just send them out the way it is. If you get any flack for it, use it as an 'I told you so' moment with her.
@Legallyblondiebride: Perhaps use yellowpages.com and write in the addresses and see if you can get some of the names that way?

You know what I would do? I would send her an email and thank her for the list. Honestly. If she did that intentionally it will piss her off to no end. I also think FI might be able to help you put the pieces of the list together.
@Legallyblondiebride: She may have sent it that way not to tick you off, but because she would like for the envelopes to be addressed that way. I'd give her the benefit of her doubt, because it'll at least preserve your mental sanity! :)
But I'd go ahead and send the STDs and call her to get the first/last names for the invites.

I finally got FMIL's guest list (after begging for it since Christmas). I was SO happy that we can finally figure out how much we will be shelling out for this wedding. It was definitely stressing me out.
I got home and looked at the list only to find out that there were no first names. Only "Mr. and Mrs. Last name." Really? It took over 2 months to make that half-assed list?? Now I have to try to hunt down the first names of about 50+ people.
Grrrr.
