ugh, I’m sorry, I don’t know how to help. Assuming your parents are together…can your mom knock some hard sense into him?

You did a good job of compromising and reasoning with him by suggesting he do it for the rehearsal dinner.  If he still doesn’t get it, I don’t know.

OMG thats horrible! Maybe sit him down and seriously tell him that it bothers you. Would he really still do it if he knew how much it would upset you? We are not having alcohol at our wedding just because my dads family is really religious, and its easier not to offend anyone. Also, I dont reall like when people get trashed at weddings so it works out. I hope youre able to stop your dad from bringing that wine, what a disaster!

Yeah…get some people to support you and show your dad how serious you are about this!

I find the same thing. When some friends found out were not having alcohol they got really dissapointed. Getting drunk is not the point of the wedding! I just dont get it.

Do you have a contract with your venue?  Does it mention outside alcohol?  I know my venue contract has clause in it about unauthorized alcohol…something to the effect that the alcohol with be confiscated and a fine is imposed.  I know it sounds harsh, but it creates a liability issue for the venue.  And, in your case you don’t want a bunch of drunk guests wandering around a parking lot…someone could get hurt!
