PumpkinMuffin:  My parish JUST this year stopped requiring it and it wasn’t available.  I was actually looking forward to it b/c it’s like a 500 question compatibility test from what my friends said.

We went to a class called God’s Plan for a Joy-filled Marriage, though.  That was something…!!  Did you do that yet or do you have to?

Hello,

We just took the FOCCUS test this past week. we had about 200 questions each. Its nothing to be worried about. I was worried as well. Some of the questions are ” are you afraid that your partner is attracted to his same gender?” lol, ” are you concerned with your family getting along with your spouse, have you and your spouse talked about whether pets are allowed, have you and your spouse discussed financial stuff , are you concerned with your spouse watching porn?” stuff like that. we go back next Tuesday to get the results and discuss them. I’m actually excited.

PumpkinMuffin:  Yeah, we had the God’s Plan thing that was 9-3 and we have ANOTHER pre-cana that’s also 9-3.  And both costing quite a bit of money!!

PumpkinMuffin:  We did it about a month ago. FOCCUS is nothing to be nervous about! It’s actually a good way to get conversation started with your FI afterwards on areas you might not have talked about enough together. Out of all the pre-marital stuff, FOCCUS has been my favorite.

PumpkinMuffin:  The questions weren’t bad at all. it took me about 30 min and it took him about 45 min. all you are doing is pressing agree or disagree so it goes by quick. and like the other poster said, it really was nice bc you get to discuss things afterwards that you hadn’t thought about discussing. We have to do that and then we just have to meet with her next week and then we have to enroll in a class. Its only 5 sessions. which isn’t bad at all.

PumpkinMuffin:  That’s cheap! I’m going to be out over $1000 with the fees for the classes, ceremony, mandatory organ fee, etc.

PumpkinMuffin:  I meant that was my favorite part of the Catholic stuff haha not of the whole planning process.
