thank you so much for that tip about the PS resolution. im using photoshop for mine because its the only program i have, and i was using 200 for the resolution!
thX =D
This is a great thread, i do graphic designer too and i have to admit my short coming is definitely font choice. The examples here are great I think i may redo the font on my invites. Thanks for the inspiration
Right now I am using Abbeyline and GilSans MT. Any suggestions for a good text font to go with the Abbeyline?
I need some font help!
These are some texts used in a bunch of invites I am in love with and would like ot play with these fonts to create my DIY invites, but I need help identifying them. I'm not sure if I can get them for free, or if I have to pay. If I can't get them for free does anyone know of any similar ones I can get from somewhere like dafont??
I'm looking for both of these fonts in this pic (or similar):

The purple font in this pic:

And the black font in this pic:

Thanks so much in advance!!!!!
@thatelisagirl: The top two examples are both commercial fonts, but for a similar look try Pointedly Mad, De Louisville and Helldorado from dafont (or check out their Western fonts category for more ideas). The last one is Copperplate, which is also commercial, but it might have come bundled with your system.
Thanks!! Do you know what the grey font is in the first picture? And yay! Copperplate comes with Microsoft Office.
Bookmarking this for once I start our invitations! Thanks everyone!
A really great front that I am planning on using is called Miss LeGatees. (Its a script font). I totally love it but haven't quite which font to use with it, i am thinking a serif font. Anyone have any ideas?
@thatelisagirl: Oh, sorry, I didn't notice that you were looking for the grey script as well! That's a commercial font as well (Coronet), but there's a similar freebie by the name of Ohio Script.
Can someone help me find a font similar to the one the names are in in this invite?? I'm in love with it but haven't able to find anything similar. THANKS!

wow i love this topic... althought it is kind of funny to think about 'buying' a font teehee! i love that adios!
So glad I found this post. I have my invites ready to print and had used Edwardian Script for the whole thing. Is using one font a huge no-no? I see the pairings earlier posted and like Futura Blk front. What parts should I keep Edwardian (just our names and the "reception to follow?). Ugh, now I'm even more indecisive!
i love this site! i can't live without it!
@kittieswed use a serif font with your script, not gilsans. or you could stick with gil, but bump down the size and no oblique/italic and no cap on the first letter of the word either. perhaps go with a darker gray, rather than black.
@milesbella: Using just one font is totally acceptable. It would be very elegant and classic, but I like keeping just the names and reception information in a script also.
I'm torn on mine can't decide if I want all script or not.
I love this topic so much! I want to recommend Antrokas for anyone looking for a free, whimsical script font. So pretty! I'm thinking about DIYing my calligraphy with something similar to this. I am so in love with Primele's style but won't be able to afford it.
@kirabee: OMG you just saved my life. I've been wanting to do the "print on envelopes, trace with pen" thing, and this looks JUST like Primele's style! (Luff her though - but all I can afford is an address stamp)
Noodle - Yay!! I hope it works out for you, I was honestly surprised to find that font for free because it's so pretty!
I am so glad I found this thread! It has been very informative :-). Thank you so much everyone!
Oh how I love that Weddingbee provided me this post from a year ago.
You ladies are truly a wealth of information! Thank you!
Does anyone know what the script font in this is?!!? Please help!!
Thank you so much for all of this. This single post will save me days of work!
@jennalee333: It's a commercial font called P22 Cezanne Regular. I purchased it for $20 on the following website:
http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/p22/cezanne/
Hope this helps :)
I know this is an old thread, but I am so glad I found it!!!! Holy font information! Awesome!!!
Hi Bees,
Anyone know what the black font is? I really want to use it for my wedding stationary.

Thanks so much!!
Can anyone give a good alternative to Mrs Eaves?
It was used in our Invitation suite and I'd love to use it on our programs but I can't justify spending 60+ for it. Same goes for Burgues (though I'm considering using Jane Austen instead for that.)
@arobb81: wow! thank you SO SO much! awesome tips and advice, you really just helped me a TON! I just finished my own save the dates and am starting to look around for invitation inspiration so that really gave me insight :)
VERY helpful thread!!!! Thanks so much to everyone for the amazing tips. I'm on dafont.com right now looking at all the fonts and going font crazy, lol I can't wait to have my invitations ready and printed!!!
i love helvetica neue! there are so many options- utralight, light, regular, semibold and bold. what a great way to add variety to your invites while keeping the consistencey =) if you're ever looking for free font downloads, i love dafont.com they have ALL sorts of non-copyrighted fonts free to download. I'm thinking about mixing Riddle (a script) with Helvetica Neue!
Anyone know what the serif font is on this invitation suite? I know the script is Bickhem and the Monogram is Ecuyer Dax.
@amartin100503: It looks similar to Perpetua Titling, though it might not be an exact match (I'm not a font expert)
@Leprechaun:Very very similar, but no dice. I've found that the numbers are very unique. So I've been trying to find it based on the zip code 91702. That '2' has a very specific look. But, thank you for you help.
This is such an amazingly helpful post!! I justed wanted to add another resouce that I love for handwriting fonts that are all completely free! I use these fonts for almost everything (especially scrapbooking.)
I'm loving all the information I'm getting from this thread! I am just starting to think about our invites so this will be super helpful!
Thanks, everyone!
I am trying to find a script type calligraphy font to print addresses on the envelopes. I looked up Adios Script mentioned in a post 2 years ago and I love it. Where can I find similar fonts (without costing $99) for envelope addressing ?
Thanks
For many of you struggling to find your font:
It probably doesn't have all the free ones that you see from dafont.com, but it will definitely help you find something from a publication.
Typography was probably some the FI and I argued about more than anything else. I'm a graphic designer (as a hobby) and he's a very into design. ;)
Hi bees, I'm hoping to get some recommendations for a serif font that goes with Burgues script.
Hey Ladies,
Can someone please help me identify these fonts? I tried using the font finder on fonts.com http://www.fonts.com/FindFonts/SearchBySight.htm I'm desperate!!!!!
