Devilled eggs? Cheese and crackers? What's in your fridge/cupboards??
ETA - Why do I feel like this is an episode of Chopped?!
Slice pickles into thin spears, cut thin slices off a block of cream cheese (or pipe thin line of tubbed cream chese), and roll ingredients in sliced lunch meat. Ham, turkey, beef... doesn't matter. It all tastes great!! One of my favorites! Ingredients sound strange but together = OMG goodness!
milk, frosting, dressing, eggs, pineapple, oranges, cheese, beef shoulder, ketchup, bbq sauce, chocolate and caramel syrup, lemon juice, garlic, soy sauce, potatoes, A1, mustard, and pancake syrup
@Pilotsgirl09: Actually that's a staple at these parties in WI! and my mom is already making it :)
Party Pinwheels
2 blocks cream cheese
1 Tbsp chopped black olives
1/4 cup finely chopped bell pepper
1 Tbsp finely chopped onion
1/2 packet of Ranch mix
8 flour tortillas
Mix all ingredients well and spread onto tortillas. Roll up and chill in fridge for at least an hour. Slice into 1 inch pieces and serve. You can also layer your favorite sliced meat, sliced cheese or lettuce.
or cucumber sandwiches! That is if you have cucumbers ; ) Just peel and slice them sort of thin... mix some mayo and cream cheese (if you have it and add some dill or another herb like it) and put on top of a nice bread slice open faced and cut on a diagonal (I cut off the crusts). So it's the bread, mayo mixture, then cucumber open faced.
I add salt and a little cracked pepper on top.
Ahhh, or deviled eggs work, too !!!
@bakerella: umm...I have frozen meals for lunch and pasta for dinner? I don't know...I'm not home enough to have regular food :)
@Soladylike: well...another standby...not a bad idea...I just need mayo...yea
If you had frozen meatballs, you could do those with what you have to make the sauce.
Totally on a tangent...anyone remember the Gilmore Girl's episode where Rory devil-egged Jess's car? Hilarious!
If your beef shoulder can be ground or pulverized in a food processor I got it!
Take the beef, 2tbsp soy sauce, garlic, 1/4cup of milk, 1 egg, (you will need 1/4 cup of bread crumbs or 2 slices of fresh bread or crushed crackers) season with salt and pepper and 1tsp of dried parsley if you have it a tsp of cayenne pepper could be awesome too. Roll them into mini meatballs. Bake for 20 minutes at 425 degrees. While they are baking mix together bbq sauce and dice your oranges real small and mix it together. When they come out stick with toothpicks and dip into the orange bbq sauce. Could be delish!
EDIT: Use one pound of meat it will make 30 meatballs or so
Sweet and Spicy meatballs!
Ok ladies, you are awesome! After all that I'm going with...drum-roll please...Deviled eggs...boring I know...but That's ok, I found mayo!! (non-expired...haha)...Thanks for all the great suggestions...
@mwitter80: I'm going to have to keep that one in mind...sounds delicious!!
EDIT: Mr.TKE even thinks deviled eggs are the way to go...what a dork :)
...now for the hard part...what to wear lol
@mwitter80: It's official, you need your own "How To" show. You know how to cook, bake, decorate, etc. so freaking well. Even your wrapping was flawless!
@CaraMia10: Thank you so much :) I wish I could do something like that but Martha already exists. Although I think I'm much hipper lol.
@thisismeAXiD: I totally remember that episode. Still wish they had new episodes. Sigh..
