Please help me out with some food ideas for the company christmas party. I have to work all day on the day of the christmas party so something that could be prepared the night before would be great. And the christmas party is actually at another location away from the location I work at. Please no desserts since it always seems like our tables are laden with desserts and nothing else.
I am counting on you ladies to help me come up with something fab. Thanks in advance.

i’m trying to decide the same thing!!! I might make some broccoli slaw and throw in some craisins (to make it festive). http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/broccoli-cole-slaw-recipe/index.html
Do you have access to a fridge during the day?
Everyone, keep the ideas coming! Both FI and I have potlucks the week of the 13th!

Yea we have a fridge at work just limited space in the fridge I think. Because somehow our fridge always get stocked up w/ food that people get from takeout. But no one ever bothers to clean out their food though after they are done.

Since you have to work all day and won’t have time or opportunity to cook or otherwise prepare food, look into local restaurants that cater. Most are very cheap and are willing to do catering packages. But you won’t know till you ask. If that isn’t an option, look into sandwich platters and frozen appetizers from Costco that just have to be heated and served.

I’ve always made baked spiced nuts for parties – simple to prepare and transport and people adore them! Just toast 1-2 cans of planters nuts (or whatever brand) in the oven for about 10 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of melted butter, 1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary, 1 tsp of cayenne pepper (I like them spicy, so I add more), 1-1.5 tablespoons of packed brown sugar, and a sprinkle of sea salt (more if you use unsalted nuts). Pour everything over the hot toasted nuts and stir to combine. Let them cool and put them back in the tin – all done!

ember- i normally uy stuff from like the local grocery stores like the catering platters. but this year i am a little tight on money so i cant spend the money for it.
aprilbride-that spiced nuts sounds really good. i may do that for christmas packages instead.
i found a really simple recipe for a spinach cheese spiral that can be served at room temp. so im going to prepare and bake that tomorrow night. stick that in the fridge when i get to work and take it out an hour or so before i get off so that it can come to room temp.
