Pick up a sandwich tray from Costco or the local deli. It's filling enough to hold you till dinner and not so messy that it'll get on you while eating.
My MIL bought all the girls getting ready food for breakfast and lunch so we had some bagels and stuff for breakfast and then a sandwich tray for lunch with chips and stuff. Nothing ruined my makeup and it was all very easy to eat. Make sure to enjoy your hors d' oeuvres at the wedding too and take time to actually eat your dinner!
For breakfast we had a big bowl of fruit (grapes, etc from Sams Club), some danishes, and some bagels. And some coffee =]. We had that at the salon while we were all getting ready.
Around 1030 or so we were at nordstroms getting makeup done and we all got a latte at the coffee bar (the milk was holding us over, lol, and the caffeine pumped us up. we got sleepy just sitting still for so long!)
For lunch I picked up stuff two days before the wedding at Sams Club. I picked up a tray of deli meat and cheese and I picked up croissants and chips. So we all had a sandwich, chips, and some soda at my house before we went to the place to get married. AT other weddings i've been to, we've done cracker and cheese and fruit. But you seriously need a protein. i was starving at that wedding!
In my bridesamids bags I threw in a bottle of water and some gummi bears and also some trail mix that I bought at Sams Club. I didn't want anyone getting hungry and sick.
Trail mix is a good quicky thing to bring along though
I plan to eat similarly to how I do now... a bowl of cereal and a bit of fruit for bfast and a sandwich of sorts for lunch. I will probably be sure almonds are on hand to snack on throughout the day.
I'm having a bridal luncheon the day of, which in my family is typically "high tea" at a british tea room; however, since I'm vegan, clotted cream scones doesn't sit so well with me. Instead (after much drama and arguing) the luncheon will be at a local italian restaurant that can make a kick a** vegan entree for me. Then, between portraits and the ceremony we're doing sandwich trays & bottled water for the wedding party (the reception is wine & cheese).
What I plan on is, having bagels, cream cheese, fruit and coffee for everyone before we head to the salon. After, I plan on hitting up a Trader Joe's (a couple days prior) and getting a cheese, meats, crackers, brie, fruit and anything else that looks yummy and have as a spread in the hotel suite that we will be getting ready in so we can munch as we please!
OMG! I love Trader Joe's. So wish we had one. :(
Thank you!! These options are wonderful! I'm vegetarian, so the vegan options were wonderful!!
Great question =)
The Best Man in our wedding was so sweet and he actually brought me and my bridesmaids bagels and iced coffee =) the bagel was great - filled me up, and didn't even eat the whole thing, then the small iced coffee was just enough caffeine!!

For those ladies who have already had their wedding day (or any current brides-to-be with any ideas/suggestions!), what did you eat/drink on the day of your wedding before the ceremony? What helped to give you enough food so that you weren't running around on an empty stomach, but didn't make you feel too full that you couldn't fit in your dress? Any suggestions on food to help with nerves?
Thanks so much!
