I can't believe I'm actually posting this, but I just want to know more about food processors, because we can't decide if we should register for one or not.  We have some friends and family telling us that we "NEED" one and that we'll love it and that it is a registry-must!  I am having a hard time deciding if we will really use one if we have one.  Obviously right now we don't have one, so we're forced to do everything by hand, etc.  Will we love it if we have one?  One of my other friends uses hers all the time now to make baby food -- I guess that is in the future for us too in the next couple years?  Maybe we should think about that now too?  What do you all think?

Any advice?  Or suggestions on which one to register for if we do decide to register for one?  We were thinking the KitchenAid 12-cup w/ the 4 cup mini bowl, as that seems to make sense?

    Thanks!

I would say YES. Just like that. All caps.

I have a $20 Cuisinart with a blender attachment that doesn't really work (for example, it won't crush ice for smoothies). We're totally dependent on it, though, to make sauces and dips.

We went a little insane and registered for the GIANT Cuisinart 16-cup one from Williams-Sonoma. It has a 4-cup bowl and a 12-cup bowl I think. I am hoping someone gets it for us!

If you plan to entertain, then yes, you should get one. It will make your life so much easier and open up more options for food that you want to serve your guests. Also, if you want to make anything from scratch like spagetti or chili, etc., your can purchase your vegtables whole/fresh and then prepare them with food processor. I have the KitchenAid 12-cup w/ the 4 cup mini bowl, like you are considering and I use it all the time. I love it.

If you cook or plan to cook at all in your future, definitely yes. You'd be surprised how much you'll use it once you have it. Even if it's only once in awhile, it's important to have at those times. We have the giant 14 cup one as well as the small one, which I use very frequently. Definite registry staple!
