- Wedding: November 2014
My fiance and I are opting for food stations at our reception. I was going for a super formal wedding because not alot of our families have experienced something like that due to the fact that formal weddings are no the norm in our countries and I would like for them for once to feel that upscale, formal feel (and of course talk about how awesome our wedding was for years to come). However, after weighing our dinner options we figured that our guest would more than likely enjoy the stations because of the variety (both of our families are from opposite sides of the planet lol). Now I kinda feel like the stations will take away from the formality. Ugh! not sure what to do at this point but if we go for sit down we’ll be stuck to one option which is chicken. On the other hand we will have three seperate food stations (it won’t be a buffet line) manned by chefs. One will be latin style, asian cuisine with a hibachi and a smoked carvers station. Please help!!
P.S. Our venue is very grand on its own. Wooden floors, tall ceilings, black chandeliers, crown molding, chivari chairs, 72 x 72 inch square tables, all white curtained room with uplighting and an outdoor courtyard where they will experience cocktail hour, most of them for the first time. Our families are both spanish and we are having a very grand “american” wedding. This will be a first for both of our families to experience a wedding of this magnitude. I am also the first person in my family to have a actual wedding with a wedding dress and the whole shabang! (I KNOW THE PRESSURE IS ON!)
