We are big foodies, we’re on a budget and most (90%) of the catering prices in nj are VERY HIGH the cheapest package i saw was $47 pp for traditional american food. Chicken rice, veggies . My dh and i go out alot to different restaurants most of them ethnic. Did any one have any food on their menue, or something that you could consider non traditional food. I feel that we can have very yummy food on a budget if we go the non traditional way. There is a bbg joint closed to my house they sell the food by the tray. One tray is $10 if could feed about 4 people. The tray has bbg chicken, ribs, yellow rice and french fries. The line on the restaurant is always long(people wait outside) because the food is inexpensive and delicious. I am checking also other restaurants in my area(spanish) they sell the whole lobster for $25 pp if comes with rice or veggies.

We were going to use High Street Grille from Mt. Holly, NJ.
The buffet package on their website is $54/person, but the food is amazing and a little offbeat, such as the stout braised brisket (FI’s favorite). Their buffet also includes dessert which is Strawberry Shortcakes, Crème Brulee, Mini Chocolate Cakes and Wedding Cake with presentation, cutting, plating & table service.
Plus their prices include Basic Tables, Chairs, Linens, China, Flatware, and you can higher servers and such through them.

We are doing Italian from a restaurant I love. It definitely isn’t cheap as the restaurant is more expensive but I know other bees have done Italian catering more on the inexpensive side

@brokeninnj: We wanted adventurous food too as we love trying new things! But we caved to the pressure and went with meat and pasta stations. Womp womp. I did sneak in mini-reubens for the hand passed appetizers, though! Not too ‘adventurous’ but I love them.
