Any foods you used to just hate but now for some strange reason love? For me, it’s beets. Growing up, I hated them. My parents would make this beet salad with sour cream and everything would look flourescent fuschia. And the taste would make me gag (or I was probably being a drama queen, too). But then recently I tried roasted golden beets with goat cheese. Holy crap! I was in love. Now I like them in my salads and as a roasted side. Yum! Anyone else now love a food they once hated?

brussel sprouts, sushi, so many good things I missed out on as a picky child.

Sushi, for one. And avocado! I used to hate the taste and texture but now I put it in everything! And I started loving spinach when I hit my late teens. I’ve always thought beets taste like dirt, but trying them with goat cheese could be tasty!

Tomatoes! I love them in salads, tacos, burgers… Used to pick them off of my food but I decided to force myself to eat them because they were one of the only foods I disliked. Now I’ve grown to like them.

Onions, broccoli, and green beans mainly for me! I LOVE onions so much! It was terrible when I was pregnant because all I wanted was onions, grilled, raw, cooked OMG couldn’t get enough of them!

I ate blueberries once as a kid right before I got sick, so I hated them for many years! Now, I love them.

Mushrooms. My parents would put them in everything and I hated them. Now I eat them all the time!

strawberries and broccoli. I could eat both all day everyday now as an adult (and sometimes do), but as a child you couldn’t PAY me to eat either of them.

@stephee: That happened to me with watermelon as a kid, but I still can’t bring myself to eat it.

Lots of green foods, including avocado, green peppers, and steamed broccoli. I’m not sure why, but if any food was green I just wouldn’t eat it as a child.
Ironic because green is actually my favorite color. I still won’t eat string beans though–ick.

I’m so happy to see brussel sprout love! We never had them growing up because my parents hated them, but I tried them as an adult and loved them (@gelaine22 definitely with bacon!!) I’m starting to think maybe it’s not the food itself I like but all the bacon and goot cheese I put on things…
