If I go into the kitchen and a coworker is eating tuna fish, I have come up with an excuse to leave because the smell makes me choke.  The worst thing is that one of the senior guys makes it at work and then just scrapes the can and his plate into the sink where it sits and floats with all the other things people leave in the sink including all the mayo (gag again) from the spoon.  Then the kitchen is off-limits for me all day.

Thinking about it is making me sick.

EWW! Do you work with toddlers?! That's horrible! Grown adults leaving messes like that and not cleaning up after themselves...Foot in mouth

Go stick your face in some coffee grounds or something - it will clear the smell out and give you a burst of energy too! (I heard that smelling fresh coffee beans or grounds can wake you up as much as drinking it!)

Hope you have a better day!

I work at a law firm.  As a general rule, none of the male attorneys know how to clean up after themselves.  They can't even throw away the paper bag that their lunch comes in.  They just leave it on the table an armslength away from the trash.

I get squeamish with seeing meat in certain forms. I made dinner at FI's the other day, and FFIL asked me to roast a chicken... I made FI pull out the gross parts. We're both vegetarians but he's applying to vet school so I told him it was practice!

Also, I cannot be around the smell of sour krout. That's just nasty. Everything tastes like sour krout after it's been in the fridge.

Melons, (all but watermelon), has the same effect on me.  As soon as I smell it I want to gag.  Also pineapples but to a lesser degree.

I had a roommate that used to mix her oatmeal with cottage cheese everymorning. Maybe it was tasty, but to me it wasn't a very pleasant smell..

I don't have this problem... and that IS my problem... I love food WAY too much!  LOL

Actually - it's usually texture that turns me off first - I can't handle fatty meats or anything rubbery - calamari -

When I was pregnant, my sense of smell was so keen I had to stay away from certain things because it made me sick:  Dog food, donuts and donut shops, and anything that smelled like grease...

@lilyfaith: I'm a vegetarian too, but the rest of my family isn't. My mom can't touch raw meat. She wears surgical gloves to handle the stuff. My family makes so much fun of her! It is kinda funny...

any type of condiment...can't smell them, touch them (even the brand new container they come in), taste them. Gagggg

Eggs! Ew, meat, and there are others I'm sure

I love food, but I don't eat meat!!  And surprisingly nothing in particular grosses me out, except when the Fi eats liver that his mama cooked!  I get squimish from that!

I once went to a summer camp thing where we had work outs every morning at the crack of dawn. We had a couple of minutes to shower afterwards and then had to go to the cafeteria for breakfast. I was already feeling bad from the workouts and getting up so early, and being surrounded by so much cafeteria breakfast food would just put me over the edge!

Tomatoes! i think they are the most disgusting food ever. I used to always watch Fear Factor and think to myself that if they put a tomato in one of the eating competitions, there is no way I could do it. I would rather eat random animal parts than a single bite of fresh tomato! Ugh, the smell!

I loathe onions and brussel sprouts and pretty much all seafood. Ick.

It wasn't easy growing up in a fishing village and hating seafood. :P

    Scalloped Potatoes make me gag.

I had strep throat one time with high fever and had eaten scalloped potatoes and I...well they came back up.

Now I can't even look at a picture of them or I'll get nauseated.

I jokingly have a list of foods that I don't even want in the house.  While I am joking, the sentiment behind the joke is very real.

Also, husband knows I won't kiss him after he eats certain foods.

Isn't it strange how some of us LOVE the same things that make other people gag? LOL For instance, I could eat sauerkraut out of the can. Several cans, probably. I eat tomatoes by the slice and I think everything tastes better with onion. haha

FI eats raw oysters and that's about as bad as it gets for me. I watch him slide that thing out of the shell and into his mouth....it looks like something someone could've possibly coughed up. GAG!!

I'm pretty food-friendly, but certain textures get me BIG TIME. I can't eat things that are slimy or too "soft creamy" (like some yogurts, pudding, etc). Makes me gag.

The only food that I hate and won't eat is lamb. I don't care how it's cooked - the flavor makes me feel sick, as does the smell (like, the smell of a lamb roast).

omigosh i love about half the foods on your icky list!

Egg salads...for sure. Totally icky. It reminds me of the cement they used for my braces (which had a sulfur component to it). Yetch.

Lowfat regular (not greek) yogurt. Totally yags me.

Usually, bananas. It's a texture thing. Only when they're PERFECTLY ripe. There's a 3-day window in my house. Also peanut butter. I hate peanut butter

Baked or mashed potatoes.  I've slowly over the past 10 years started eating potato foods, yeah until I was 18 didn't really even eat potato chips or french fries.  But I still gag whenever I try to eat just plain baked or mashed potato, even thinking about it now makes me kinda feel queasy.  Weird.

Bananas make me want to hurl. I can't even be around someone eating one. The smell, coupled with the texture of the banana just makes me want to gag.

Spring rolls, with the soft and squishy outer wrapping. The first time I ever tried them, I literally had to leap up from the table and sprint to the bathroom. Thankfully, I held it in and managed to not actually vomit, but the guy I was dating at the time seemed a little taken aback. More recently, a friend of mine was insisting that they weren't that bad, so I tried again. Yeah, same effect. Never again.

@bvig: You are my soulmate! I've never met anyone who hated potatoes as much as I do. I don't like many foods but mashed potatoes make me GAG, I just can't get them down. I also can't do potato chips. Ironically I love french fries but they have to be pretty crispy and thin :)

I also can't stand any type of sea food or the smell of any food when its frying (i.e. driving past KFC makes me want to throw up).

The only food I really don't like is olives. (And I'm half-Italian - strange, right?) But I can taste a black olive from a mile away. Seriously, don't tell me "it's mixed in, you won't even taste it." I WILL TASTE IT! Ick :)

Oh and i forgot about pickles! And any condiment (mustard, ketchup, salad dressing, mayo, bbq sauce, etc..). Ok it would probably be easier to list the foods that don't make me gag haha :p

I'm a huge texture person. Usually if I don't like something it's because of that. But my top "makes me gag" foods are definitely asparagus, creamed spinach, and cooked carrots. Ick. Thinking about cooked carrots....ok I'm not going to because I really might vom on my laptop. There are SO many foods I *wish* I liked. For example, I really wish I liked tomatoes. But I can't. I like tomato based foods, but not raw or chunks of cooked tomatoes. The list goes on and on. I'm kind of a freak lol.

Oh, and I will NEVER understand how some people don't like mayo. In my life, mayo is practically a food group!

I'm with you, EAQ - I am SO picky about textures! I don't like most cooked vegetables because they get too mushy/slimy.

I can't stand salmon. Even the smell makes me sick. Same with peanut better. Ew!

people are always surprised to find out these two, which are also the only two things i dont eat:

cilantro -- yesyes, say goodbye to salsa!  and sliced cheese (think kraft singles, or cheeseburgers.. nachos/pizza/melted cheese are ok)

    yeah, weird i know.
