It's snowing pretty hard outside, so here I am eating one of the frozen meals I keep in the kitchen fridge for just this occasion... and fantasizing about what I could be eating instead!

We used to live in Helena, MT, and there was this bakery, Park Avenue Bakery for anyone who cares, that had the most amazing cherry turnovers.  And Earl Grey chocolate cake.  And Bailey's Irish Cream cheesecake.  Mmmmmmm, my mouth is watering right now.

Oh, and I have had a craving for Taco John's potatoe oles for like a year now.  There aren't any Taco John's in California.  :(

So, bees, if there was any food you could have right now, what would it be?

At this point what do I NOT fantasize about?! Right now a big juicy bacon cheeseburger run through the garden and some bacon cheese fries sounds really good. Hmmm, think I might have a bacon craving as well?

Napoleon from Veniero's Pastry Shop in LES, NYC.
    The best ever.

    Crepes from Paris.

Little bite size of yummy Tiramisu goodness from a pastry shop down the street of our apt in Rome.

    Sigh.

Malaysian food. I could really go for a Prawn Mee and roti right now.

No Malaysian restaurant hours from me! WAH!

@Gerbera: I live right by Vineros. It's so hard not to go there on a daily basis. Their desserts are AMAZING!

I used to work out on Long Island and there was this little deli that had the BEST lentil soup I have ever had. I still crave it. It has a tang to it that I've never tasted in another lentil soup and was served with a delicious and fluffy fresh made pita. My mouth is WATERING!

Also, the fresh made croissants and pastries we would get from the local patisserie when we spent a week in Provence. Those were DELICIOUS!

Sushi. Like PP said, the BF doesn't like it and it's expensive.

And there's this fab little chain called Barbara Jean's down on the coast of Ga and SC, and they have the best crab cakes and chocolate dessert called 'chocolate stuff'.

    @KatNYC2011:

    I hate you. Tongue out

Have you been to Sapporo's East around the corner yet? Spicy Crab Asparagus rolls, it's not on their menu. If you haven't; go there NOW. Really great sushi

For Malaysian, I always like Nyonya on Grand St and Penang on Elizabeth was a HS favorite of mines after school. :)

Eileens Cheesecake (Kenmare/Delancey vicinity) has the best cheesecake I've ever had and I'm not a cheesecake person!

There's also a really good Jap restaurant in a basement in LES, serves more typical Japanese dishes, hardly any sushi. Gotta dig up the name somewhere.

Oh! Fish Head Noodle soup from this hole in the wall Malaysian Restaurant on Pell St in Chinatown NYC.

    Joe's Shanghai's soup dumplings!

Oh geez. I miss home - NYC. Cry

@Gerbera: Don't hate, I'll share the delicious food. Smile

I have been to Sapporo's east, really good. Sadly I'm allergic to shellfish so no crab rolls for me.

I'll have to look into Nyonya and Penang.

I've been to Tai Sho on St. Mark's, is that the Japanese place you are thinking of? They do a lot of skewers (like chicken, beef, liver, etc) as well as eel and egg over rice dishes. LOVE the food there.

There is a little place in London (or a couple of them, it's a chain :)) called Bella Italia and they made the most delicious pasta carbonara, and gamberi, and a chickeny creamy appetizer over bread... just thinking about that restaurant makes me want to hop a plane!

at this moment, these delectable little cheese puffs from tyler florence's restaurant in napa. OMG the thing is just amazing. there's this cheese mornay sauce inside with bacon, more cheese and i think chives or something chivey on top. had one with my friend and we literally scrapped up the bacon and cheese bits that were on the serving dish. i would go back right now to get some.

i first had them in december and i'm STILL raving about them. so good

@karo: my mister LOVES sushi. he can't get enough. unfortunately for him, i can. lol

The state you live in post has got me craving NC barbeque (pulled pork, not just anything you "barbeque" on the grill) with all the hushpuppies, baked beans, and cole slaw to go with it!!

YUMM! Also, I currently want some strawberries!

@JebbBug89 mmmmmmmm yes!  I have a dentist appointment tomorrow in Lexington - you better believe I'm bringing home some Lexington barbeque with me!

Other than that, I could definitely go for french toast from Cracker Barrell, or a footlong hotdog from my favorite little hole-in-the-wall place back home.

If anyone has a Longhorn Steakhouse around them, they have this appetizer of housemade potato chips with barbecue ranch dip. OMG. I think I crave it on a daily basis. Bad, bad, bad.
