I love this guy! I once asked FI how he'd feel about hanging this poster in our apartment...he wasn't too keen on the idea :(
Hahaha this is great!
@pb and j: What?! No grammar poster? What a party pooper... :)
That's awesome. I think I'm buying the four grammar posteres to put in my windowless office.
I think I'd rather "lose" my hemorrhoids, lol, but this is a cute way of promoting good grammar. These examples are much more interesting than the ones I remember reading about in my textbooks!
I'm not going to lie, I used that link to brush up on the use of the apostrophe for "it" with posession.
Love that poster!!! One for wedding-oriented grammer...I've been seeing "isle" pop up quite a bit lately. I saw something about walking down the isle, and I was just hoping it was about an island honeymoon
.
I'm the Grammar Nazi for our law journal. I have both that poster and the semicolon poster hanging in my office. I plan to gift them to all future Grammar Nazi (note: my official title isn't Grammar Nazi, that's just what they call me).
Lose/Loose is my #1 pet peeve error!! (I'm an English teacher)
Love it!
I'm a writing tutor and would love to beat students over the head with this poster. :( Seriously--you made it to your senior year of college and somehow can't write a coherent sentence?!
I love the definitely! No a or you're an a-hole lol! This is something i would genuinely consider purchasing! Although i must admit i am the worst speller so without spell check i would be so lost.
LOL! That was fantastic! Thanks for sharing. :)
LOVE this! Would it be horrible of me to give this to my BIL's gf for Christmas since I'm not a fan of her and think she's kind of dumb? LOL
Those are the best! I wish there were a subtle way to gift them. haha
@Lillindy: Yes. Unless she's too dumb to get the subtle jab. I would do the same thing to my SIL, but she would still spell things wrong because she doesn't care. She calls Dreft "Derf" and actually says and spells the following animal this way: GIRAFT (rather than giraffe) Wish I was kidding.
Haha!
I personally can forgive misspellings much more readily than I can forgive flat-out using the wrong word. It blows my mind how people can mix up "your" and "you're" or "their", "they're", and "there". Another one that I hate is improper verb conjugation ("they was" doesn't even sound right!), it's like fingernails on the chalkboard.
That's amazing :o). I just shared it with my old journalism prof.
@abbyful: That is a big pet peeve of mine too! At least once a day, I hear someone say "I seen..." WHAT?! My other pet peeve is wrong pronoun usage.
