Ok ladies, skoot in…come close…closer…ok. Here’s a secret….
Not sure if you saw my other post about falling in LUST with Sottero and Midgley’s “Adorae” like the rest of the bridal world. But since FI is paying for the wedding all by himself IN CASH, no help or debt from ANYONE, I could not allow myself to fall in LOVE with the gown due to the $1200 price tag. Another bee (Thank God for savvy bees) suggested DaVinci bc she recognized the same style and thought it might cost less. Well, I tried on the DaVinci “50024” gown on Sunday after having tried on the “Adorae” and BOUGHT IT!!!! Right then and there. On the spot!! It is the same dress!!! I looove the fit, the material, the elegance of both gowns. I was concerned bc the pics of the DaVinci had a slightly different beaded belt, but it was nothing to be concerned about. The belt was beautiful. These dresses were the exact vision of how I want to look on my wedding day. But with the Sottero price tag of $1200 and the DaVinci tagged at ***$689*** had to go with the DaVinci!!!! It fits perfectly, I won’t need any alterations. I literally got my dream silhouette for right under half price!!!
Bees were suggesting a pre-owned gown, which is an awesome suggestion. But the size I wear fits perfectly, again no alterations. As several brides had done that. Also, brides were asking for $700-1300. Why wear a used one when you can get one for new at the same price or for less???
And listen, I know some brides want to be a Maggie bride, or a Vera bride, or a Kenneth Poole or Kleinfield bride, etc. I get it. But I’m not really like that. I just wanted to look elegant, sophisticated, and glamorous on my wedding day.
So there you have it, Budget Brides. If you’ve fallen in love with a gown but can’t swallow the price, and the “name/designer” of the gown doesn’t matter to you, see if DaVinci makes a similar style!!! Hope it works out for you the way it worked out for me!!!

Amazing! That’s great I wish I could find a knock off version of this dress!
I’m taking a huge risk and ordering it custom online from a nice Chinese lady…

Adriana – I hope your risk works out! I ordered my dress online from china as well, and it was awesome. For $288! No alterations needed<3

@Adriana.Niva:You can always create a post about it asking brides if they’ve seen a similar style. That’s how I got the info!!!
@samara11278:MAN did I go back and forth about that!! I was too chicken for the chinese replica route. But your dress is gorgeous and it looks custom made and unique to you!! Congrats!

I thought about the Chinese route, but saw bad reviews about the quality of lace dresses. I did get a name brand, but I bought a sample dress that fit perfectly, except for the length. I got a $12000 for $600, and I was completely okay with it being a sample.

Heyyyyyy Loribeth!!! How’ve you been. Wow!!! 12g’s vs 600?!! Woo hoo!!!

I love the idea of finding a less expensive version of a dress you love! Great job katieebee!

I’m an Adorae bride and I have to admit that the DaVinci is just as beautiful. Had I tried it on and found it to fit well, I would have bought it instead! I did get my Adorae for a little less than list price ($899), but saving a few dollas is always nice when you’re still getting what you want! Congrats to you!

I had no idea about this! Thanks for the tip. I love the adorae and kendra and davinci makes a copy of both. I might have to go check them out.

yay!! deals are always so exciting! Glad you found your dream dress for less!

Thanks everyone!!! Some girls aren’t really jazzed about the less expensive dress being the same design as the other. Good to see such positive replys.
@tess75: $899 was a great price. And I’m getting ppl saying $1200 was very reasonable. Seems they really range in price. FI didn’t give me a budget, but I wouldn’t have him to do the $1200.
@PuntaCanaBride: Yes, I did see the Kendra design too! And I tried on the Scarlet design in DaVinci. I thought I’d post about it bc I noticed some brides posting and thinking the material or quality is less in the cheaper costing gowns. But for me, it was quite comparable.

@katieebee: Im a budget bride and checked out this link…it made me sad.
I bought my dress, early, had dress regret (still do after being married for six months) and did not find this site until alot of my planning was done already.
Im a very sad broke maggie bride and truly wish i saw this post a year ago. Its so easy to find your dream dress at an affordable price!!!!
Thanks for posting for all the new brides though!

there is a website that I love, http://www.brokeassbride.com and they have a section on there, called Can’t afford it? Get over it which showcases a particular style of dress at several different pricepoints. It’s actually pretty cool to see the $13,000 dress and then see one that looks virtually the same for $800
