I’m having a tiny, intimate wedding with only 8 guests. We’ve reserved a private room of a restaurant for dinner after the ceremony. I want the room to be decorated (it’s quite plain just on its own, the restaurant doesn’t provide anything beyond a white tablecloth), but logistically I am not going to be able to DIY it — the restaurant is only open for dinner, so there just won’t be time to decorate before the ceremony (and we will go straight from the ceremony to pictures to dinner).
I’m going to call around and try and have a florist decorate the room for me — just a tablescape for the table, and a few touches around the room. What is a ballpark amount of money you would expect to spend on something like that? (I just want the room fancied up, there’s no specific type of flower I’ll be demanding — whatever’s in season and local). I know they’re going to want me to name a number first and I just have NO IDEA how much it would cost to have a florist do just one table and a few other things. Ideas? I’m in a fairly low cost of living area of the US.

@bridinmt: it’s just for dinner? you’re not gonna be there for hours and hours. A bouquet as a centerpiece should suffice. You don’t need stuff on the walls or Anything. I wouldn’t go over $50 for flowers in your situation.

I don’t think it would be very expensive at all, especially since you aren’t requesting a specific type of flower. I agree with the PP, maybe $50-100?

@Aquaria: It doesn’t have to be super fancy but I’d like it to be a little nicer than just sticking my bouquet on the table … no reason to be cheap when we are only having one table 🙂 There is also an ugly door I would want them to cover up somehow…It does seem like 50-100 is reasonable though.

@bridinmt: Depends on how many arrangements you want but I’d say prob around 100 at least. Is your table a big round table or rectagle?
If its round you would just need a large centerpeice in the middle. I was thinking it it was long you could do maybe 3 small centerpeiced going down the center (my guess would be prob 50 each) so prob 100-150ish is my guess
We had a Destination Wedding with 25 people and we had 1 really long table. I had arrangements going down the center of the table 5 arrangements. It was around 300 plus I bought a table runner that was another 30 but you wouldn’t need that many.
