This week I found out that in the world of wedding planning, not just us brides turn into Bridezillas… let me explain….
My FI started to FREAK out becuase of wedding invitations… yep.. my “Oh so calm”, “Im a guy so I dont know about wedding stuff” and “whatever you want baby” guy went totally WAKO and stressed because HE wants to send our invites like.. NOW…
Me: Umm, babe… The wedding is in OCTOBER
FI: yes, SOOO??? WE NEED TO SEND THEM NOW
Me: Umm my sis hasnt finished the desing… (sis is graphic designer, shes our friendor)
FI: well……. tell you sister that the wedding is in october THIS YEAR
SIS: (on facebook chat) Tell your FI that design does not happen in TWO DAYS and that he can #&%$&
Of course I edited that for him….
I mean, I KINDA get it because most of our family is mexican so they have to get their visas ready but…. come on!!
hahahahahaha…. tell me about your moments! Beleive me it helps with the venting 😛

LOL you never know what will set them off. 🙂 Anytime I mention an idea for the guys attire my FI turns into a bit of a groomzilla. Apparently he feels that is his decision to make alone and he does not need any help..little does he know..;)

@Nini_Crown: haha that’s funny! Mine just flipped out because I was going to hand deliver a few of the local invites. The people I was going to give them to wanted them hand delivered. He freaked out and said we had to send them all in the mail no exceptions.

@xlittlemissbridex: hahaha mine thinks the same about groom attire, I told him that my BMs where wearing Mauve dresses (ok, I actually aid purple cuz he is a guy afterall) and he joked telling me he will put the GMs in deep purple suits… (O_o)

@xlittlemissbridex: omg this is totally the same thing FI thinks and he turns into a groomzilla over this too!
The only other thing FI turned into groomzilla over was when we did our gift registry he was an absolute bear and had just a bad attitude about it

@Nini_Crown: I had a similar thing happen with my FI I told him that the RSVP for our october wedding was Sept1 and that we’ll be sending them out mid july… he freaked out… saying he wants to be able to invite more of his friends if his family doesn’t come (we’re having a super small wedding and unfortunately since my parents are paying family trumps friends. We are inviting friends just not a whole bunch) I had to calm him down saying that it was PLENTY of time to invite more people ESPECIALLY if you urge your family to RSVP as soon as they can 😀

Glad to see I’m not the only one dealing with a groom getting fiesty over attire! Lol
@Nini_Crown: Definitely understand the mauve=purple thing! One of our colors is eggplant and that also =purple with us. Although my FI constantly corrects me when I call fushia, pink. Idk why it’s only that color that he knows. LOL! I hope you’re right and your groom was joking about the purple suits! Yikes!! 😀
@best10612: We’re getting ready to do our registry pretty soon and I am NOT looking forward to it!! My FI already made the comment, “You probably have everything pretty much already picked out and I am just going to have to tell you what things I think are ridiculous, like $300 glow in the dark plates.” :p..I don’t have everything picked out already..lol

My fiance seriously got so mad at me he would hardly talk to me because I didn’t want to include mention of our second reception in his hometown (3 months after our wedding) on the invitations….it seriously was so irrational. I told him we could email everyone, put it on our RSVP website, or even put an insert in the envelope, I just didn’t want it ON the invite, but he was really angry about it.

My FI freaked out on my step mom. It was actually kind of funny. We didn’t want traditional food at our wedding. We found a great restaurant we love that was willing to cater for pretty cheap so we went ahead and made the decision that that was going to be our food. My step mom freaked out a little because “not everyone likes spicey food!” (It’s not all spicey, there is probably going to be 1 spicey option). She demanded we make a time to all go down so she can sample and approve the food. My wonderful FI put his foot down. “He told her this is what we want. We don’t want some rubbery piece of chicken and nasty green beans that have been sitting out all day!”. It was really funny. Ever since then my step mom has kept her mouth shut.

I am a huge DIY bride and made probably 80% of everything for our wedding. When my man found out I wanted to make rustic wooden signs for our wedding in the woods, he lost his mind. He got mad that I went to Home Depot without him to buy the wood, went back himself to buy it, then told me that he will be “spearheading” any and all wood projects for this wedding.
I think secretly it was all a sham to get together with his bestie (our best man) to cut and distress some wood and have a few beers lol. At least it’s one less thing I have to deal with, and he’s finally helping out!

Ha FI is ADAMANT that he doesn’t want to set anything up on the morning of the wedding. He wants the time to get ready….I’m thinking “getting ready takes you all of fifteen minutes” haha. I don’t care, and I think it’s sweet that he is taking it seriously, but it’s pretty funny.

Yesterday we were talking about our wedding colors. and he was like “I want it to be red and white”
and i told him: “well… i was thinking about red, purple and white… because white is a ‘default color’ so another 2 colors would be nice… so there’s not too much red it could hurt people’s eyes and you know purple is my favorite color”
he just stayed silent for about five seconds and said: “fine… one color represent you and another represents me”
also he keeps telling me he doesnt want a tacky wedding (he has only been to ONE in his entire life), and ask him what does he find tacky in weddings and he just says “i dont know… if you try to do something tacky i’ll let you know”

I’ve laughed so much at this thread,
@Anamagana: if you try to do something tacky i’ll let you know HAHAHA

Our wedding colors are a variety of shades of blue. FI had a fit when my sister (and only bridesmaid) picked her dress and it was *teal*. He was worried it would be too ‘green-ish’ and not match the blue ties and vests we wanted for our Dads and the BM. Took a bit to convince him the shade she picked would probably work out OK.

DH went a little groomzilla over where in the venue we were going to put the favors. Seriously!
