I used to think 25 would be my ideal age to have my first child, but life didn’t work out that way.  I will be 29 when my baby is born 🙂

I also used to think 25 would be the perfect age. However, I am now 25 and I have no desire to have a child right now. I’ve barely been married a year, I want a few more years to enjoy my husband. Once you have a child, you are NEVER not a parent anymore and thtalking of outs things into a different perspective.

I hope to start TTC with husband at 25. That will give us a good two years together just as husband and wife, my career will theoretically be settled in by then, and he will be pretty far through grad school.

I also used to think 25! lol, where is this coming from?  At 25, I was no where near ready.  I’m turning 29 this year and still don’t feel ready, but I put 29 because I anticipate being ready before I turn 30.

I always thought 25, but I’m turning 25 next month and no babies are forecasted for the next year! I’ll probably be 27 if everything goes according to plan.

Firstly, bear in mind that I am not American, which will influence my answer.

I was always told “first child by 30, last child by 35” for fertility reasons. In fact, during my teens then the health service ran a campaign to try to encourage women to do just that.

I’m 30 this year, and aim to start TTC as soon as we are married… so with any luck, I’ll be 30 or 31 for my first, which I think isn’t half bad. If we succeed, we will be the first of our close friends and family on both sides to have children.

My mom told me early on to wait until at LEAST 25 to start having kids. She said you grow up more between 18-25 than 13-18. Of course I didn’t believe her at the time. However, now at 28 I am SOOO glad I listened to her! My life went in circles in my early 20s. I wouldn’t change anything during that time because it was all amazing. But I sure would have missed out on a lot if I’d had a kid. I know my sister, who had her first kid at 17, missed out on tons (not that she’d change anything now, of course!) I’m getting married next year and we’ll probably start TTC soon after so I’ll probably be 30 when I have my first kid.

I always thought around 25 too, but its just not how it worked out. I’m 25 now and when I get married next yr ill be 26. I’d like at least a yr for just us then try after my brothers wedding in May of 2015 because I’m a bridesmaid so hopefully I’m 28 by the time I have my first child.

My mom started having kids at 30, so that’s what I figured I would do. Now that I am in my later twenties, I think I’ll end up having kids when I’m 31-32. I’m in no rush!

I’ve always wanted to have my first child in my early 20’s. I’ll be getting married in 3 months, so we’ll see what happens from there! 😉

    25! That’s the plan/goal. I plan to be finished by 30.

@2BeeWed2013:  I used to think 25, but that was before I actually realized that I wouldn’t finish university or move out until I was 23. 25 came around and kids were the furthest thing from my mind lol. I wasn’t even sure I wanted them.

I’m 28 now and I’m thinking 30-31. I don’t want to wait much more because I don’t want to be an older mom really.. and my SO is 14 years older than me. I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and just do it. I am coming to the realization that there won’t be some magically perfect time for me to get pregnant. I am not sure I’ll ever be one of those girls with baby fever!

I used to think 28 would be ideal, but since I am already 31 and not pregnant, I will be at least 32!
