I chose other...I mostly listen to what I guess counts as "punk" music and some industrial. I like some classic rock and oldies, too, but I tend to gravitate towards punk stuff. I know that to a lot of people that would fall under the Alternative category but I seriously think of Bush and Pearl Jam when I think of Alternative!
We listen to literally everything. From techno to metal, from indie to r&b/hip hop, from classic rock (like the Beatles/ Bob Dylan etc) to jazz standards like Ella Fitzgerald. I'm glad that my partner has as large an aural love affair as I lol.
I mainly bounce between country and pop/top 20's. I'll throw in some occasional Broadway and rap/hip-hop. I also like to throwback occasionally to some classic rock, 80's, and 90's soft rock.
I am completely all over the board when it comes to music. Take a look at my pandora radio at work, and you'd see everything from sympohnic music, to gaga, to ray lamontagne, paul simon....it all just depends on my mood :) Having spent a majority of my life immersed in music (I played for a long time...miss it still) I have a great appreciation for many types of music. BUT since I am going to the gaga concert later this week (WOOHOOO!!), her pandora station has been playing nonstop :)
I said indie and rock/alternative....favorite bands of mine are Wilco, Ween, My Morning Jacket, Sufjan Stevens, The Postal Service, Mumford and Sons
I'm a country girl! I do listen to a little top 40, but almost all of the preset radio stations in my car are country stations. I used to HATE country music in high school, but it has grown on me. Where I live, people usually LOVE country music or hate it. It seems to be one of the two extremes.
Probably country. I love most types of music and it varies on my iPod, but like if I'm in the car driving, I usually just stick it on a country station.
@PitBulLover: i <3 wilco! dh and i had an all-wilco cocktail hour during our wedding :)
i listen to music mostly when i'm at the gym (since i don't drive in nyc), and i work out to pop/top 40 stuff since it's upbeat. but other than that, i mostly listen to classic rock or indie
@finnaroo: Oh thats awesome!!! Our first dance song and DHs dance with his mom were both Wilco songs. That doesnt top an all Wilco hour though!
I listen to mainly country, but when I'm with DH in the car, we listen to just about anything:)
REGGAE i love it i feel like i can pretend to be on the beach dancing when i'm really having a not so rad day.
I listen to music from so many genres, it's hard to isolate a favorite! The only music I don't like is hip hop, R&B, pop, and country. A genre I listen to that is not on there is Instrumental.
Mostly classic rock, hard rock and metal, 70's through the 90's.
I am with @missmouse29 I will listen to just about anything and can appreciate all music. My FI on the other hand well yeah not so much...it is a constant battle in the car with him. Especially on long road trips. We did agree on the Beatles though during dinner can't wait for that and our DJ has all of their digitially remastered albums. But really into more modern folk-ish types recently I have loved Mumford and Sons for years before they got big and Florence and the Machine and Laura Marling.
@Kant: I like oldies and classic rock too. I know more from the previous generations music than I do my own.
I'm an Indie girl, I LOVE Radiohead, Built to Spill, Pinback, The Shins, Sunny Day Real Estate.
Pop or Oldies at work (depending on which store I am at), Dance when I am working out, Alternative, Rock, or Pop when I am on my own and Hip Hop or Country when I am with FI. I do like a little bit of everything though.
I voted for indie, but i also love rock/alternative and a decent amount of pop music. I also love folk.
Right now I am hopelessly obsessed with Mumford & Sons.
Pop, rock, and I love BPM on Sirius radio (dance/techno station)
I will listen to basically anything.. except heavy rap and country! I *hate* country music.
Yup, I'll admit my favorite genre of music is pop music, then comes R&B, and little bit of rap. Those are my favorites but I'll listen to classic rock stuff, oldies, some country, classical music, heavy metal, alternative. Oh I do listen to soundtracks from movies and disney music.
Pop, rock, and indie (: I don't usually like country but I love Taylor Swift. I think she's "pop" enough for me haha
@Meealissa: Aaaah, I love punk music! My fiance has won me over to rock/hard rock though. So I listen to both :)

Thought this would be a fun poll to take! You can vote on multiple genres.
