I ve taught him to be better with money whereas he’s taught me to be more optimistic and have a better attitude when it comes to cleaning.

I taught him how to parallel park.  When he moved in with me I was living in the city and only had one parking spot so one of us had to park on the street.  He had never had to parallel park until he met me.

He had taught me how to cook.  He is a foodie and loves to watch Food Network.  I burn water so it was quite the learning process for me!  He has the patience of a saint.

I’ve taught him how to manage his money, save/invest/plan for future, priorize his wants to plan for his future, change his career to a long term option.

He taught me a few cooking tips, honestly not that much when I sit down and think about it?

I taught him about pop culture. He taught me more than I ever wanted to know about guns.

I taught him how to ski despite him growing up on the base of a mountain, and he taught me the rules of hockey despite me growing up in a huge hockey town. It’s funny how something can be so common and boring if you’re too used to it.

What I love about our relationship is that I feel like we are both constantly teaching each other things. We are two entirely different fields – he’s in a molecular biology PhD program and I have a masters (and am applying to PhD programs) in Communication Studies. We both really enjoy listening to the other one talk about thier research projects and studies.

I taught him the word caboose, the child’s game “this little piggy went to market”, and that cats are amazing.

He taught me humility, to never give up my dreams, and Russian.

I guess he’s had a bigger impact on me than I have on him…

I’ve taught my FI a lot lol. Cooking, budgeting, grocery shopping (he had a heart attack the first time we went grocery shopping), and a lot more. He’s taught me how to love harder, trusting, and to be more kind.

I’ve taught him: A bit about history, basically that there is more to my research than just memorizing dates, duh. That vege pate is good (he’s vegan but had never tried it…I still find this confusing). And how to season fried potatoes with garlic, paprika, and other spices so that they taste 10x better.

He taught me how to make homemade vegan pizza, and how to relax.

We both learned to rockclimb together 🙂
