I’m curious to know what the typical price range is for invitation suites, for those that did not DIY. I’m a little concerned that if completely DIY my invites they will end up just as expensive as buying them, so I’d love an idea of what is normal. I don’t need specifics (as some people aren’t really comfortable talking about money), so I added a poll. Also, where did you get your invites?

I got mine custom made on etsy for $1.92 each they are AMAZING!
Just an idea but you might want to change your poll to per invite because someone who got 200 invites is going to cost way more than someone who only got 50

@mishelleez: thanks! Good idea! What vendor did you use on Etsy?

I totally DIYed our invitation suite, but I just wanted to say that your poll might work better if you broke it down by per invitation cost because the total cost would depend on how many invitations were ordered.

Our invitations are priced @ about 4.99 per suite. This is including an invitation, reception card, information card, rsvp card, outer envelope with matching rsvp envelope, and belly band. They’re beautiful, and the etsy designer I’m working with is so wonderful!

@Violet Violet: i really really wanted letterpress invites but couldn’t justify spending that much money on invitations. i did a partial DIY by designing my own invite on Adobe Indesign with the help of a graphic designer at my workplace and then finding a local mom and pop place to print my invites. total cost: 280 for my invitation suite (qty 125 printed) on letterpress. i bought my envelopes online through a store and each colored dark red envelope was 25 cents a piece. the letterpress paper i bought online myself and took it to the printer since it was a lot cheaper that way.
envelopes (outer and rsvp card envelopes): 48
cost per invitation: 2.94 not including stamps

Mine are going to be about 2/3 purchased off etsy and 1/3 diy embelishments. Suite will be $4 each prior to embelishments, plus the $200 custom design fee for our etsy seller. So I’m thinking it will average out to about $6 each total.
Supposed to get the first proofs of the design back this afternoon and I cannot wait!

Ours are 400$ for 65 invites, that is a custom design, custom map, and return address printing. It also includes out RSVP’s (postcard). Its about 6$ per invite. Its not the cheapest, but it really saved me from a lot of stress!
