So I took a test yesterday (I wish now that this occured to me that I took a picture) and the whole test turned pink. There was a much darker control line but from the max line to the hcg tab thing it was all pink. Is this normal or did I do something wrong? I assumed it was negative yesterday but then last night I woke up thinking. …wait a min….how do people get faint pink lines if the whole test is already pink?
I have not yet missed my period so if it doesn’t come I plan to test again.

@AlbertaLolita: That never happened with any of the 50 some tests I took. Either it was a defective test or maybe it got too wet?

That has never happened to me. Maybe you dipped it too far? Try another one

@AlbertaLolita: I would just test again. I never had an issue with any of mine, but I did use like 5 of the before I trusted them 😛

Usually when it’s all smeared pink like that, it’s a defective test. Try another one. 🙂

Thanks ladies! I couldn’t find anything online about it so I knew someone here would know!

@AlbertaLolita: Mine turned pink as the dye moved across the test, but then dye finished going past and the background cleared. I did get a defective one from the dollar store that did that one time though. It was a really cold day when I bought it and I think the cold destroyed the test. Yours sounds defective. I got my BFP on 2 cheapies first though before I used the FRER!

Hm..I know sometimes the whole strip kinda turns pale pink while the urine is absorbing throug hit but then that clears away within the 3 mintues and the only pink you see is the contorl line and if it’s a BFP, the test line. I’ve also seen the same thing with dollar tree tests.
I did have a defective FRER the otehr day, I am pregnant, and it was kinda weird, but the test line turned pink and the control line was barely there….I really only took it to see how much darker the test line would be comparted to when I got my BFP a couple weeks ago, so it just goes to show that some tests can be defective, even good ones so no harm in peeing on another stick.
