I was totally wrong: Thought it was a boy, 20 week U/S says girl… I’m still not 100% convinced though (didn’t see the ‘hamburger’). We’ll have to see what baby comes out with in January!!

We really wanted a girl, so I thought we were having a boy. Nope!

@asphodel:  I would have liked a boy but the more I think about it, baby girl and I are going to have a blast together. I get the feeling she might be a mini-me cause my pregnancy is is paralleling my mom’s when she was pregnant with me (not any of my sisters!!)

A study was actually done on this a while ago but I can’t remember where I found it.  The study was disproving the old wive’s tales but in doing so found that 75% (I think) of women who had a strong intuition about the sex of their baby were correct.  However I think it also said that women who did not have a gender preference tended to be correct more often than those who did, I assume some women confused their desire for a certain gender for intuition.  Certainly interesting.  I have been pregnant twice.  The first time ended in an early miscarriage but I had a strong feeling from the beginning the baby was a boy.  I still refer to him as a he.  No way to know for sure though.  The second time, I thought I was having a girl but I was less sure of this because I also was hoping for a girl since my MIL has 3 sons and a grandson and I knew how happy she would be.  So part of me wondered whether I was just hoping for a girl rather than really feeling it was a girl.  But ultrasounds later proved it is in fact a girl!  So I think intuition can be right.  I had dreams about both babies that revealed the gender. I also had dreams I was pregnant before my BFP in both cases so I tend to trust my dreams 😛

At first I thought it was a girl, but as it got closer to 20 weeks, DH and I both started thinking that it was a boy, and it was!  I am not sure if my intution was correct or not because I thought both at one time, but going into the ultrasound, I was pretty confident it was a boy.

I had an intuition it was a girl from the very beginning as I subconsciously caught myself referring to “her”.  my dreams were all boy though so I was sure I was wrong, but nope. She’s a gal!

My intuition was girl, it is a girl, we wanted boy, once we found out I was happy and felt more “connected” to her if that makes any sense.

With our first, I was sure it was a boy but we had a girl.

With our second, I had a feeling it was another girl. The pregnancies were so similar. And I was right.

I was sure I was baking up a boy, and sure enough the ulstrasound at 19 weeks confirmed! Double checking today (34 weeks – u/s due to possible breech) just in case.

I was sort of hoping for a boy, because I thought it might be easier to have a son for some reason, but in my gut I knew we were having a girl. And our 19 week ultrasound confirmed that it was a girl. As a side note, I couldn’t be happier and I’m not having any gender sadness at all!!!! Turns out it is fun to shop for baby girl clothes. 😉
