My fiance is Scottish so everyone is wearing kilts, we’re going to do some Scottish dancing and all that fun stuff. I was just wondering, has anyone else had haggis at their wedding? We don’t know how much to order. Its a side dish, not the main course.

Have you ever smelled Haggis? My family is mostly scottish and I had to grow up with that smell. I’m avoiding cultural foods especially the scottish ones at my wedding XD But I know a lot of people love Haggis , like my parents love ittt. Does the fiances family like haggis? If its a sidedish i’d say order 1/3 of the amount you’d order for a food thats the main meal. Does that make sense?

My FI lives in Scotland and he told me haggis (at least traditional Scottish haggis) is banned in the USA so it might be hard to get ahold of here. Meanwhile, I had some while visiting and it wasn’t so bad. But as PP said I wouldn’t order much as you’ll be hard pressed to find many to try it lol

Well I’m in Canada and I know its fine here. Also I love haggis and I know that many of our guests do too. Plus we’re having a buffet and aren’t going to label as an attempt to get people to try something new.

Get some high quality scotch and have it as part of the featured drink menu. That’ll satisfy the Scottishness of the wedding.

Nope no scotch, the venue is dry. Plus there’s a loy of kids coming and we didn’t want alcohol anyways.
