Diamond84:  we are certainly going to do a first look and I’m very excited about it! No gap between the ceremony and reception? Score! Two big chances for amazing photos (first look AND ceremony “second look”)? YES! Less stress and more time, amazing! I’m very excited about it!

I’d love to see your pics 🙂

This is kind of a dumb question, but what is a first look? Thanks!

I so wish my FI would be onboard for a first look. He is adamantly against it, as in there will be no wedding if we don’t get to have our first time seeing each other be when I’m walking down the aisle. He is super traditional and this is the one thing I can’t get him to budge on 🙁 I was thinking about trying to do something cute where we don’t see each other but still get to interact, like being on opposite sides of a door holding hands, or reading each other a letter where we can hear each other but not see each other.

glasskey:  instead of the bride and groom seeing each other for the first time when the bride walks down the aisle, they set aside time before the ceremony but after they are fully dressed to see each other.  For some people its a private moment between bride and groom.  Others use it to get some pictures in before the ceremony.  So instead of the wedding party taking pictures between ceremony and reception, all or most pictures can be done before the guests arrive.  After the ceremony everyone, bride and groom included can go straight to reception/cocktail hour.

Diamond84:  Totally agree!!!! I am so glad we did a first look.  The photos from this part of the day are by far my favorite.  🙂
