@ms3ms:  Just wanted to say that it’s lovely! I have a pearl ring (not engagement) and I love it too!

I am jealous! I wanted a pearl engagement ring terribly and to the point of tears when my SO, now FH, said that he didn’t think it was a good idea. I did my research as well, but he was not convinced.

It’s been 2 years, how is your pearl ring holding up to the test of time? I am absolutely in awe of pearls, and have always wanted a pearl engagement ring. But have been spooked by the lack of durability.

I think of pearls as being quite fragile, but I have a pearl solitaire that was MIL’s, and it is still in perfect shape. I don’t wear it very often Because it’s a size or so too large for me.

Just in case this is of interest to anyone, it’s a pearl in a calla lily. I think it would make a beautiful engagement ring for anyone who loves pearls. Weve bought my mother in law one in silver for her birthday but the designer makes them in platinum and white gold and she can also make the same ring with a diamond instead of a pearl. The designer is Emma Kate Francis and she’s on Etsy x

MsKaren:  Thanks for sharing this!  While I didn’t get a pearl engagement ring, pearls are sort of my signature!  I was looking for something like you posted, so I could purchase it as a gift for special people involved in our wedding.  Thank you!!!

Be careful with it. I used to wear a pearl ring all the time and it eventually got ruined with everyday wear. I wasn’t good about taking it off when I got my hands wet though, that should help. I think it lasted 3 or 4 years.
